    The Mets playoff magic number is 39. That's a more important countdown. I want the division, more out of wanting the franchise to finally get back-to-back division titles, but to erase last year's collapse, and 2007's, where two teams played in a Game 163 tie-breaker for the Wild Card that weren't the Mets, sewing up a postseason spot is a goal that should be watched with the same scrutiny. https://s.abcnews.com/images/Sports/WireAP_ee00ca16f9a54ab38b6266387754ae1e_16x9_992.jpg>

    We saw the Reds for 3 days and now all of America gets to as MLB brings us the great "Field of Dreams" matchup between the Cubs and the Reds! Hmmm…suddenly realizing this could be used as a platform for the reinstatement, and induction into the Hall of fame, of a certain Red icon… Assuming he keeps his mouth shut, something he failed to do when asked about the allegations that kept him out of the Phillies' Wall of Fame.

    Hey, a Brian Ostrosser sighting! SteveJRogers Sep 05 2007 03:49 PM Interesting and useless tidbit: Bobby Ojeda of course was injured for the 1988 postseason, and my copy of the 1973 NLCS program (IIRC its the Mets one, not the Reds) does list Brian Ostrosser as #19 even though he was no where near the postseason roster. My guess is he, along with John Strohmayer were just called up in August and would have been possiblities if there was an injury or two late.
