  1. Anderson Hernandez seems to be showing that he really doesn't have major-league talent. Maybe it's just a really bad slump. Vance got to play everyday for a week while Pudge had a bruised thumb, but otherwise it's just general backup-catchingness. I'll bet he's looking forward to his first postseason. He's sitting in the bullpen with a ball in his hand. Wearing #49, although he's said that he expects to get #39 from Feliciano before the Mets return to New York.
  6. ...and there goes the IGT mojo. Damn you KC! [/sarcasm] I guess that International League incident wasn't a problem for Lastings.
  7. It's somewhat last-minute, but I have two extra tickets for Sunday's game against the Phillies. Probably worth nothing that the game has been moved to the national TV game (and an 8:05 start). I unfortunately will be unable to attend (will be seeing the Mariners-As at Safeco that afternoon). Anyway, they're Upper Box, 738B (third row from the front). Sunday 8/6. Face Value on the tickets is $29/each. Will happily sell for a CPF discount of $40. Emails to g_radecki [[AT SYMBOL]] yahoo [[DOT]] com

  9. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Pelfrey's probably pitching for his roster spot tonight. Maine is probably the one with the best chance of pitching in the playoffs, and that can change with a few bad starts. I'd think that Pelfrey's going down no matter what, with Heath Bell returning.

  11. Ivonne Hernandez Perez is single.
  12. I too read it regularly, as he tends to always have a nice rundown of the various press on the Mets on any given day. What drives me crazy though is that he's unable to complete a sentence, ever. I'm not exactly the punctuation police, but that blog is out of control terrible in that area.
  13. ZI believe that refers to the fact that both Milledge and Chavez are better defensive outfielders than Nady.
  14. Omar Minaya's conference call with the Mets beat reporters has been posted in audio format to Mets.com. Highlights: Omar repeatedly confirmed that a bigger deal was considered on Sunday but talks had been "losing steam" as of late Sunday. He was informed about Sanchez at 1-1:30 AM this morning but didn't get all the details until 6-7 AM. The taxi was on I-95, Sanchez was the only Mets player in the cab, it was hit, Omar couldn't confirm if it was a drunk driver, it was pushed up against the wall (unclear if that was the median or the side of the freeway). Omar couldn't give definite odds on whether Sanchez would actually need surgery or not. He was flown back to New York, he's in a lot of pain, they're going to control that first and the evaluation will probably be in a week or so. Omar referred to it as a dislocated shoulder.
  15. metirish wrote: I know how you feel, and here's another thing, when Omar was on the FAN he said when asked if Sanchez is gone for the year.." we have to wait and see if he needs surgery,if not he could be back"...I swear he said something like that...anyone else hear it? No, that was correct. According to Omar, he is "resting" and will be evaluated. Omar went on to note that "if" he needs surgery, he "will be out for the year."
  16. Russo blew a gasket when talking to Brian Cashman on WFAN re the Abreu/Lidle deal. Cashman was seconds away from hanging up on him.
  17. Looks like that report is getting retracted, Metsblog says it's "fuzzy"
  18. Yancy Street Gang wrote: ="Gwreck"]Lugo to LA. (Source: Russo on WFAN). Really? This is an incredibly busy July 31. Yep, for Joel Guzman. Lugo to play 2B at least until Kent is off the DL. Then they "figure it out."
  19. More deals still being reported though (Royals-Rockies deal just announced). We shall see.
  20. Posters on Metsgeek.com say ESPNnews is reporting the Linebrink deal.
  21. Lugo to LA. (Source: Russo on WFAN).
  22. Nady's page on the Mets.com roster shows him as a Pirate...
  23. He's the only person reporting that so far. That sure seems like "buzz" rather than "news."
