    39, didn't realize I knew as much about the prehistory and deadball era. Some were really stupid, like the Yogiisms question (and the Scully question, which I too knew for some unfathomable reason).

    Source: Mets.com 7 Stitches in his finger. ]Reyes said there was a large amount of blood from the wound, and that he was told he would not play on Saturday or Sunday. Currently listed as day-to-day after X-rays on the finger were negative, Reyes' status for the All-Star Game at Pittsburgh will be re-evaluated on Sunday. ]Reyes said he felt the instinct to dive head-first into the base, trying to beat out an infield hit on a ground ball to Jacobs. He said he "hopefully" would not try it again, though he naturally intends to continue sliding head-first on stolen base attempts. "When we're in the game, we don't think about it," Reyes said. "We just do it. It's tough." I hope Wille fines him or something. NEVER SLIDE into first base!

    7/7 loss to the Marlins (Lima started) Lots of love for Chris Woodward. Solo home run when we're down 7. Striking out with the bases loaded. Flying out with runners on 1st and 2nd in the 8th. Whole lotta love for a whole lotta nothing.

    The DFA is preferable to the outright release because of the outside chance that another team is stupid enough to want him.

    Just plain unacceptable. It's not hindsight when everybody SAID that Oliver should start and Lima should be in the 'pen. Not pinch-hitting for Oliver when he was leading off an inning was maddening. Letting Franco hit, even with 2 outs and nobody on in the 9th, was maddening. Jose Reyes sliding into first, was maddening. Got the distinct feeling that Willie wasn't playing to win and the team wasn't playing hard tonight.
