  1. I saw Anderson Hernandez in the dugout but no word on what his number is. We need somebody right handed off the bench without Easley. What about Craig Monroe, recently DFAed by the Tigers?
  2. Castillo 2 Wright 2 Easley 1 Reyes 1 Alou 1 Heilman 1 Wagner 1 Sosa .5 DiFelice .5
  3. Alou 2 Wright 2 Beltran 2 Delgado 1 Easley 1 Sosa 1 Heilman 1
  4. Glavine 3.5 DiFelice 2.25 Alou 1 Easley 1 Wright .75 Castillo .75 Feliciano .75
  5. ="metsmarathon"]honestly, i don't see why you can't do the magic number from the beginning of the season. when you're up, its fun to know how much. when you're down its helpful to know how much. and if you can jinx it at 40, you can jinx it at 10. Couldn't agree more. With today's win and Philly loss, the magic number is down to 37.

  7. Haven't forgotten, just busy at work n home. Will get it done asap.
  8. ="Yancy Street Gang"]With a half game lead, starting the countdown at 10 would even be premature. ?? Our lead is 4 games in the division.
  9. Will do it tonight when I get home from the Cyclones game.
  10. Didn't we start when it was over 100 last year? I think counting down from 40 is just fine.
  11. I will admit that I hate "Because X is in, Y should be in" arguments. Seems that if the HOF ever makes a mistake the floodgates are opened forever, if you adopt that logic.
  12. I believe Andruw Jones is from the Dutch Antilles too.
  13. Gary Cohen (and Keith, somewhat) bitching about where the press box is at PNC is driving me nuts. As a baseball *fan,* I think it's great that all the seats are lower down than the press box. Hell, that's how it *should* be.
  14. Gotay is the emergency catcher now, I think. He is frequently warming up pitchers between innings.
  15. 3 ER off 3 H and BB sounds like a lot. Guess that one of those hits was a HR.
  16. Darrell Evans is #3. When I was first asked the question by a friend I was totally stumped. 100 HR, 3 Different Teams 1. Reggie Jackson (OAK, NYY, CAL) - Edgy 2. Alex Rodriguez (SEA, TEX, NYY) - Dickshot 3. Darrell Evans (ATL, SFG, DET) - TransMonk7 10 HR, each season 1992-2006: 1. Jeff Kent - Valadius 2. Reggie Sanders - Edgy
  17. metirish wrote: Saunders is hardly a gimme to do it this year....he should but a flawed question. Yeah, apologies, was the question as I was told it.
  18. Ah, crap, he was the answer I was thinking of. Nice. Oh well, doesn't affect any of the other wrong answers. 100 HR, 3 Different Teams 1. Reggie Jackson (OAK, NYY, CAL) - Edgy 2. Alex Rodriguez (SEA, TEX, NYY) - Dickshot 3. 10 HR, each season 1992-2006: 1. Jeff Kent - Valadius 2. Reggie Sanders - Edgy
  19. Nope, not Finley. Good guess though.
  20. 100 HR, 3 Different Teams 1. Reggie Jackson (OAK, NYY, CAL) - Edgy 2. Alex Rodriguez (SEA, TEX, NYY) - Dickshot 3. 10 HR, each season 1992-2007: 1. Jeff Kent - Valadius 2. -- Sheffield not correct to either question. Alou, believe it or not, hasn't hit 100 homers with any team.
  21. #4 John Burkett?
  22. I think #1 is Rafael Palmiero.
  23. Kent is correct for #2 -- starting with his 11 homers in 1992 (3 for the Mets).
  24. Still no correct answers to #2. Pudge had only 8 in 1992 and hasn't reached 10 this year. Bonds had only 5 in 2005. Sheffield was hurt last year and only had 6.
  25. 100 HR, 3 Different Teams 1. Reggie Jackson (OAK, NYY, CAL) - Edgy 2. Alex Rodriguez (SEA, TEX, NYY) - Dickshot 3. 10 HR, each season 1992-2007: 1. 2. --- McGriff fell just short. Had about 90 for TB.
