  1. Can Dickey pitch here in relief?
  2. Jeter GIDP sounds good to me.
  3. Jeter GIDP sounds good to me.
  4. Was mostly going for the rhetorical there. I generally like Terry but he sure does some dumb stuff.
  5. Wait, why did we take Parnell out of the game?

  7. TransMonk wrote: If they answer is yes, then it is by a win or two at best. Isn't that the sort of thing that WAR measures? Note that I agree that Tejada is probably better than "replacement level" but he got hurt. Cedeno/Valdespin/Turner/Quantanilla? That's replacement level. Hence the difficulty in looking at things in hindsight. Yes, the Mets would have more wins if they had Reyes rather than their shortstop combo. The difference between Reyes and the hypothetical full-season-Tejada is admittedly less. they should have re-signed Beltran last winter. Yes, they should have.
  8. These sort of hindsight things are always tough to measure. Would the Mets have won more games to date with Reyes instead of the Tejada-Cedeno-Valdespin-Quintanilla-Turner lineup we set out there? Yes.
  9. It also doesn't help that: 1. The government screwed up the first time around; and 2. They had a total asshole (and liar) for a star witness. That being said, you can't discount the jurors-are-idiots factor either.

Two weeks ago was Johan's no-hitter, 27,069 paid. 24,498 paid the Friday night before that against the Padres. I'll guess that REO Speedwagon being on the bill sold...about 3,500 tickets? 4,000?
  11. Morgan Ensberg?
  12. Maybe Johan can see fit to not give THIS lead up.
  13. Hey, look, baserunners in scoring position. Comeback starts now, apparently.
  14. batmagadanleadoff wrote: But he didn't pitch a complete game. Neither did any of those people in Seattle last week. That's why it's a combined no-hitter.
  15. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: He's definitely MFY material but the word is he's all but tried on a Dodgers jersey. The MFYs of the National League, so that makes perfect sense.
  16. Higher cash, shorter years. Buy out the 2013 option. Sign him for 2013-2015, maybe $25 million for 3 years.
  17. Looking at that replay from the first inning again...I'm not so sure we didn't have our second no-hitter of the year here. Game score was 95. Put it in the books.
  18. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Um, this is a better game than Johan pitched by a long shot. Johan had a game score of 90. Dickey's at 92 through 8 innings.
  19. Ceetar wrote: unless we get our act together/vote I'm not sure anyone else gets in besides those. What, for Lucas Duda, starting outfielder? The only mystery is if both Santana AND Dickey make it, or just one of them. Wright will either start or be a reserve.
  20. The "quiet" section is an interesting idea but when their survey asked if you would consider purchasing seats there, I said absolutely not. Primary reason: I don't think the left field landing seats are very good. The "throwback" day is interesting re: limited cheering and PA announcements. Why ruin it with the horrible organ music?
