  1. The airplane race was so perfectly fitting that they ditched in ..2004? was dumb. Just bring that back! You can even still use the 4 Shea colors for nostalgia reasons. I was going to say "bring back the Great Shea Airplane Race" Did it really last until 2004? I thought they ditched it after 9/11
  2. It took them this long to ask??
  3. I guess it all goes back to what percentage "ballplayer" and "marketing tool" you consider him to be. If nobody else either on the AAA bench or in the AA lineup is 'earning' the playing time he is getting now then you don't really need to make a decision and can continue with 100% "marketing tool" (Or he'll let himself go so he can go make money hosting weird reality shows.) that is exactly what I see him doing in a few years once the sports careers totally dry up
  4. How long until Tebow hangs it up? .125/.186/.163. 87 PA, 6 BB, 33 K His numbers at Binghamton last year were ok, but when you are over 30 and trying to make the majors "ok" isnt going to cut it and this year's AAA stats would probably have earned most 31 year olds their pink slips by now.
  5. #4, at least according to that graphic, is on the corner and you can't argue that call. robo umps now please.
  6. Steve Henderson (2011) typo there - is it the player or the year?
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Yeah, the idea that strikeouts are just another kind of out is kind fo absurd. Two squeeze bunts with the infielders back, and the Mets win. I don't want to oversell bunting, but damn, with the infielders stacked on one side and behind the infield arc, its just refusing a gift. In a game that's really hard. you dont need to BUNT though, you just need to put the ball on the ground which preserves the chance for a hit (and a bigger inning) while STILL getting the runner home. 'believing' in situational-hitting doesnt have to mean lots of bunting for outs
  8. Thought Diaz would choke it up, lucky to get away with one here.
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Gary telling all you kids to enter the SNY KidCaster contest. He's telling you this at 1:05. On a school night. Haha didnt even think of that.
  10. Rosario's defense is depressing this year.
  11. now deGrom will need TWO solo shots to win this game.
  12. haha i just started on too, lets merge our useless threads please while we get shut out
  13. No Respect for the reigning CY Young award winner that is. The Mets are even money with deGrom on the mound!
  14. Edgy MD wrote: The best managers can always find... We dont have one of those.
  15. 'Back of the bullpen' type relievers must HATE extra inning games as they have to be thinking they are about to go from major league to minor league paychecks for the next 2 weeks (at least) for no reason other than the team needing fresh arms the next day
  16. this is the result when you have two good young hitters who can't even fake a position other than 1B. he'll be back, but they needed Hechy up here because right now Rosario needs a break way more than Alonso does.
  17. =kcmets post_id=9186 time=1557081044 user_id=53] Funny, Cinco We Sucko was almost in my thread title before settling on viva el mexico.
  18. =bmfc1] F U Angel Hernandez.
  19. Matz is the first pitcher to bat as a pinch-hitter? isnt he the worst hitter out of the Syndergaard/deGrom/Matz threesome?
  20. a doubleplay, thats what we needed! this team looks inept
  21. how the heck is this game still going.
  22. Just removed my Syndergaard vote after todays gem and bomb. Current culprits: Diaz Familia Mickey Cano Rosario
