Maybe one of those guys comes after the draft pick is no longer attached. Maybe. I could see an NL East bidding war for Kimbrel. All 4 "contenders" could use him and keeping him off the other teams ia am added bonus

you can get here from PA, you can't get here when you are playing for vegas on the road. sure you could have brought him over the day before just in case, but that requires more shuffling of guys, flights, sitting around in hotel rooms (dont want the guys on the roster thinking their replacement is in the building) and general disruption

Not to be overlooked: he arrived in the 3rd inning tonight. Mets could have been shit out of luck if he was coming from New Orleans or Las Vegas. Kudos to the Wilpons buying the team in Syracuse outright and ending the AAA musical chairs.

I love the premise of this thread, it would just be such a Mets move. Who's your staff? Bench Coach: Edgardo Alfonzo Batting Coach: Cliff Floyd. I love Cliff Floyd, David Wright can still carry his bags. Ass't Batting Coach: John Olerud. ok, I'm cheating here as he didn't play with Wright, but Wright stole his Jersey number and he remains my favorite Met and a great pure hitter/beautiful swing. Pitching Coach: Pedro Martinez. his personality would be infectious in a good way! Bullpen Coach: John Franco - hey, you say you wanted to appease the fans with sentimental favorites! First Base Coach: tbd Third Base Coach: Lastings Milledge, the Mets dont reach third base unless they are rounding the bases on a solo homer, and who better to high five guys on a homerun and stir up trouble? Quality Control Coach: wtf is this?

its time to rest Wheeler after 96 pitches, we are going to need more of him this season. The Marlins suck and beating them is expected. Whether tonight is just another win or a GOOD win for me is now going to depend on whether the Mets can rest their overtaxed bullpen and get 9 more outs with the interchangeable AAA express guys and not using the better relievers needlessly -
