  1. Rodon perfect through 8
  2. Carlos Rodon is perfect through 6 for the White Sox tonight for anyone who can and wants to tune in there
  3. Edgy MD wrote: Spotted managing the Sussex County Miners in the Frontier League ... Bobby "Jersey" Jones. Is that the righty or the lefty?
  4. It was dumb to start this game. It was criminal to start Stroman and waste a start. Use Familia and if the rain actually passes through Stromal can pitch innings 3 through 9
  5. As in the Mets told him that or as in he is pissed amd told them?
  6. Dr. McElheny is dual board certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine This what the Mets need. Someone who knows how to bandage a booboo and tell the kids to get back out there and play!
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Hi, I'm Don, Jr. really? that guy is probably a VERY busy man - it's a lot of work to cover up all of your father's crimes.
  8. dinosaur jesus wrote: Should have played on Friday. that would have made too much sense. Mets should have used an "opener" knowing the forecast and brought Stroman on AFTER the rain delay
  9. damn. that should have been a double
  10. At least the pitch count on this guy is going up fast. now lets score runs.

The Phil's have had more mound conferences this inning than the Mets have had batters. The Phils did some major league stalling there. And they should have charged with at least three or four "visits" and have none remaining for the rest of the game. Instead, I'm sure several of those were exempt for some stupid reason or another and they in fact have 46 permitted mound conferences left. Plus whichever ones they don't use tonight carry over to next game. if they want to speed up the game they should end mound conferences, though i suppose then they would start having fake injuries and trainers who communicate from the manager.
  12. the double steal was huge and a great play to try with 2 outs and 2 strikes
  13. I saw Acuna struck out looking in the 9th inning on a pitch that screamed "ROBO UMPS NOW!!"
  14. Edgy MD wrote: I kind of sort of think a guy should get a tally on his homerun totals if he hits it out but something goes wrong on the bases. It's giving him a homerun with out a run, but as silly as that is, pitchers can get strikeouts without recording an out, and infielders can get assists if the firstbaseman drops the ball, so it's not unprecedented. Robin Ventura would like a word with you. Google Miguel Cabrera's HR today - opposite field with heavy SNOW coming down, you dont see that very often!
  15. =ashie62 post_id=58738 time=1616794966 user_id=90] I wonder how many stadium seating areas will be open. At 20% everyone gets to sit close I would think.
  16. Friends of mine - mostly Yankees fans - are bashing the deal as one we will regret. I don't agree at all. Even if the last few years turn into an albatross that isn't a PROBLEM unless the owner is a cheapskate.
  17. I read Gordon's book last weekend - it was not worth the read. Not a lot of new material about the Mets and not enough interesting personal stuff (contrast Doris Kearns Goodwin's Wait till next year) to make the lack of new baseball insight not problematic. I wouldn't recommend it.
  18. =Ceetar post_id=59191 time=1617298456 user_id=102] That'd encourage too many people to lie about close contact. The Nats can probably field a negative-tested team, but some of those may develop symptoms/positive tests tomorrow or the next day. i think the issue is the people that were around the positive test were flying with the whole team, so the whole team is potentially exposed? It'd be nice if MLB was clear on what the different possibilities are, sounds like Saturday is if those contacts are negative, but the original contacts are still Q'd? But if someone tests positive the whole series is basically scrapped. I just hate that the Mets are just sitting around. Find them some vax appointments! Any potential symptoms for the shot will be done by Saturday
  19. =G-Fafif post_id=59130 time=1617247972 user_id=55] The total is $341 million because getting “41” in there was important to both parties...is something I'd love to hear from Cohen and Lindor. Even if it wasn't.
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: Edgy MD wrote: I never got the Wrigley field basket. Is it for keeping fans from falling onto the field? More like to keep in-play balls from being interfered with IIRC. And, yeah, if it also keeps a few drunks from flopping onto the warning track then it's doing double duty. Might also serve to prevent souvenir hunters from trying to cut off a piece of the famous Ivy to take home?
  21. I wonder what the Mets off-season would've been like had the Wilpons managed to hold on to the team for another season? And who here'd be still sticking up for the Wilpons? "Rich Hill is a great pitcher and we believe strongly in his health" "Rosario is ready to breakout, just wait and see"
  22. =G-Fafif post_id=58563 time=1616620904 user_id=55] Defensively, Maxwell was good to the last drop.
  23. Dwight Gooden shoots up that list like a fucking rocket. That was cool!
  24. STOP. CHANGING. THE FUCKING. GAME. I don't agree. By all means, try things out in the minors and lets see if a consensus can be found after seeing some of these changes in motion. If a base that is 18"-18" and is reportedly lower to the ground actually does help prevent injuries, how many people are really going to be against it? Electronic strike zone? YES PLEASE - although I don't like the report i read that they are adjusting it to mimic what umpires have been calling rather than the rulebook strikezone. if the rulebook strikezone isn't working, agree to changes in the rulebook. I'm not a fan of all the proposed rules about defensive positioning - but sure, lets see how it goes in Low-A.
  25. =MFS62 post_id=57434 time=1614960666 user_id=60] Somewhere out on the course, Piazza should have thrown Clemens' bag of clubs into a water trap. Later
