  1. ]And I'll happily argue that So Taguchi belongs in the Major Leagues. i said starting in the majors taguchi is 37 years old and has a career line of .283/.334/.398 (a 91 OPS+) that doesn't really cut it in the outfield
  2. second rain delay of the night, i hate those
  3. theres alot of crap in that cardinal lineup. 3-4-5 are the only guys that really belong starting in the majors.
  4. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Good (so far) Seo-Sanchez trade I'd rather have that one back if he never pitches for the Mets again. ]Indifferent/Inconclusive Phillips-Ishii trade I'd put his on the bad list, Ishii was crap and wasted a rotation spot for too long
  5. you're leaving out what i think is the biggest factor... Arod played for the division rival Rangers and then for the team everyone hates, Griffey went over to the other league. i think everyone in NY loves Edgardo Alfonzo still, but if he had gone and been a Brave for a few years (and good years) would that be the case?
  6. ]I'd drop three starters for the best available relievers in terms of ERA and WHIP, then trade Cordero for an ace starter i think his ERA and WHIP are beyond help, trade for hitting. I did not notice his innings pace was so high, so i wouldnt put more starters in there, but dropping 3 starters for relievers is an extreme and unncessary move when W's and K's are the pitching categories in which you have the most room for movement, and the later it gets in the year the more impossible it becomes to change your non-counting stats (whip, era, ba) by alot... a guy can have a 5 homer, 15 rbi, 10 run, 5 steal week to really give you a boost at any time but even a guy who goes .500 (14-28) on the week has barely helped your BA at this stage.
  7. 1. get Chase Utley off your bench 2. you're not going anywhere in saves, so its time to "cheat"- trade your closer for hitting and put a starting pitcher with reliever eligibility into the RP spot. 3. you aren't gaining many points in SB and Young is hurting your BA, trade him for a guy who will hit for a higher average without the steals, there are still points for you to gain in HR/RBI/R 4. don't lose to steve
  8. I liked it alot. Silver Surfer was well-handled. 4.5 stars, could have had 5 if Galactus wasn't a lame storm-cloud.
  9. 2 games is fine. throwing equipment needs to be a short suspension even if you didnt hit anyone or even target someone with it. its dangerous, childish, and completely uncalled for.
  10. good to win but that was ugly, how can you dive for that ball? dumbbb
  11. Willie goes to the mound but leaves Hernandez in to face Kotsay, strike out, 7 scoreless for Hernandez, now lets get a fucking run
  12. Mike Piazza bring out the Oakland lineup card to a nice ovation. cleon- the anouncers on WB said blanton, espn says blanton, is there something wrong with you?

  14. hahah Mets move the runners up on a balk, Glavine drives them both home! 8-1 Mets!
  15. Green drives in 2 more! 6-1 Mets, I haven't seen this in awhile.
  16. and we're into the weak-ass bullpen, lets tack some runs on!
  17. i liked Reyes bunting Glavine over only because he's a good threat to reach on the bunt, otherwise i'd hate a bunt in the 2nd inning.
  18. too much AL-BS lately. we see the phillies again next weekend but don't see another division team until the last weekend in July! (nats) and the braves and marlins don't play us until they roll through Shea back-to-back August 7th-12th. thats a loooong time to not see a division rival (we last saw both teams at the end of May.)
  19. But he wasn't a "miserable solution" in 2004, he was good enough. The Mets were even smart enough to cut bait with him after a 3.21 ERA over 174 innings because although the results were good they saw that the end was near (something you accuse them of being unable to do.)
  20. i count 30 starts, in which he failed to complete the 5th 4 times and the 6th 13 times. he also allowed 3 or less runs in 23 starts, he was helping the Mets even if he wasn't worth his salary and even though he wasn't helping quite as much as he did in the past.
  21. Gwreck wrote: Irony here is that the Rockies specifically requested a visit from the Yankees this year on their schedule. i think the integrity of the schedule is gone when you cant "request" opponents. can the Mets request KC, TB, and BAL visit Shea next year?
  22. congrats on the dumbest thread title ever. losing more won't help stop the losing.
  23. i'll dothat, i proposed it on the site.
