  1. prediction: 'Thor' beats out the recent Hulk movie as the worst superhero movie ever. I don't have high hopes for Wolverine, sub-mariner, or wonderwoman either. Captain America could be good (a modern day Cap just awakened from the ice with appropriate flashbacks, perhaps hunting a nazi-era supervillain who is still alive?) or it could stink. out of that list my highest hopes are for Dark Knight and Iron Man.

  3. a second half monster delgado would be nice, but the way he's looked i'm not optimistic.
  4. Edgy DC wrote: See, I don't think there's any rule, nor should be, that says the best guys over the first few months have to be the All-Star team. you're entitled to that opinion, what you're not entitled to do (well, you are, but not if you want to avoid being justifiably ridiculed) is say that one guy doesn't belong on the team because of his past bad numbers while another guy doesnt deserve a spot for what he did good in the past, which is it? does the past matter or not?
  5. Edgy DC wrote: Delgado has had a good day, getting his batting average up to .240 and his OBP above .300. great, only +.030/.040 to go for respectability.
  6. John Maine says "you want to leave ME off the allstar team?" 6 innings, no runs, 8 k's.
  7. IDIOT... ]But the fact that Rollins was snubbed while Aaron Rowand was added makes it worse. Rowand has reached 500 at-bats just once in his career. He's a part-time player who just happens to be hitting 30 points over his career average who cares what he's done in the past? its THIS YEAR'S team... of course you admit that yourself when you say... ]Freddy Sanchez was added as the token Pirate because I don't know, because he led the league in batting average last year? So what? He has a .331 OBP this year and is 10th among NL second basemen in slugging percentage even if you're going to be an idiot, at least be internally consistent.
  8. yuck, Newhan. its really time for the Mets to go get an outfielder. I don't give a damn if green or alou has to sit out every game when alou finally decides to come back.
  9. go to http://imageshack.us/ its all pretty self-explanatory from there.
  10. metirish wrote: ="Willets Point"]Look to the silver lining. Like the 2005 Padres, the Mets will win a division title by default. So we can all look forward to watching them go 3-and-out in the NLCS. I was just wondering to myself the the NL East is the worst division in baseball. The AL East has only 1 .500 team.
  11. Mota doesn't waste time giving the run right back on a 1-2 meatball. Get him back on the 'roids.
  12. LoDuca just tripled! (yes someone fell down) Beltran hits a sac fly to make it 6-4 Rockies.
  13. 105 pitches in the 4th, 6 walks all in the 3rd and 4th innings. end this guy's misery.
  14. 6-3 now on a ball Reyes threw away. i'd guess single, rbi, and an E allowing the 2nd run home.
  15. duque loads the bases for the 2nd straight inning in the 4th and walks home a run. 4-3 bad guys.
  16. I can't fault the pitching because the offense has been the real problem, but it would sure be nice if we could get a lead early and NOT give it back. duque at about 75 pitches through 3.
  17. Elster88 wrote: Did anyone know Lo Duca was OPSing to .700 coming into today? I did not. hitting like .350 on the road and .220 at home or something like that too. they said on the radio that the Mets scored in the 1st inning in 10 of their past 13 games (including today), what i want to know is how many times did they leave runners in scoring position or fail to score more htan 1 run afterwards? lets add to the lead!
  18. Edgy DC wrote: Good averaged with awful doesn't come to average. Leftfield is a productive position, but hasn't been for us. even if thats true F is awful, you've acknowledged that Alou has been good (i think) so where is the F coming from? how many PA's have the Mets gotten in LF (i'm not sure where to find this), what % were Alou's? I'd guess half and half at B+ level (for argument's sake) + half at however bad you think the other half was, doesnt = F.
  19. 1. I don't think the White Sox make that trade. 2. While the recent injuries to Perez and Sosa have made us throw some crap out there, this is likely to solve itself post-break. Unless you're planning on replacing our least-effective starter (GLAVINE) with Buehrle, I'm not sure how Buehrle helps this team much right now. It makes t he playoff rotation stronger, but lets get there. trade for a LFer

  21. particularly those which incorporate large energy blasters, or vocalization circuitry, as those could both be of interest should m.e.t.b.o.t ever meet human poster stevejrogers. i laughed out loud when i read that.
  22. it's 4-2 Rockies in the 1st inning. geez.
  23. like i said in the other IGT, wheres the Mets' LF? you have an 8-man lineup.
  24. Diaz is hitting .250 and has a grand total of 1 walk in 104 plate appearences, if you're going to say stupid things at least ask for the Mets to get someone good.
