My Bloody Valentin (split from IGT 7/8/07 Mets-Astros)
nymr83 replied to nymr83's topic in New York Mets Talk
another good reason to bench him, though i think theres a rule against the management specifically telling willie to bench a guy to avoid his option kicking in. -
not a good road trip, but i'm ok with going into the All-Star break 2 or 3 up (depending on Atlanta today.)

i'd throw Pelfrey in there right now.

complete boredom and a girl unwilling to see Transformers.

The Rock was good, though probably because of the aforementioned Connery. Armageddon was passable, Pearl Harbor was horrible, I never heard of "The Island."

Robin Williams is a whacky priest marrying Mandy Moore and some guy whose name I can't remember. Mildly funny, but you're not missing anything.

YEAH!!
-
basehit, gotay scores, its 5-3 and we've got insurance. don't stop.
-
4-3, lets not stop now!!
-
Gotay gets it done, Reyes on third with 1 out, beltran better get him home!
-
yeah with the AS break coming i'd think everyone but tommorow's starter is available.
-
it just wont end...
-
Beltran with a big catch at the top of the bullshit hill in centerfield!
-
bring him up.

a truth thats inconvenient for Al Gore: http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites/G/great_global_warming_swindle/index.html sadly the video itself is no longer on google video as it was a few months ago. edit- heres part 1 (of 8) on youtube, sadly it is not available in its entirety in one video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f8v5du5_ag

agreed on Castro, mostly because i wouldn't mind him taking over next year if the alternative is giving a 36 year-old LoDuca more than 2 years.
-
]A key difference is that Lo Duca has played 111 career games in the outfield. I certainly don't think he'll be good defender, just a better righthanded option that'll get Castro into more games. i was actually completely unaware of that, was he always as slow as he is now? edit- baseball-reference shows 35 games in LF and 3 games in RF, wheres your info coming from? i see 76 games at 1B too... 76+35 = 111, might your source have added games at 1st to games in left and then also ignored the 3 games in rf?

I love that the threads with new posts i havwn't read keep that "sticky-note" icon next to them even when i click on other threads and then go back to the forum. the old board didn't do that.

why would a guy who can't even hit on steroids take them? enjoy your suspension buddy, if you've got any drugs left Carlos Delgado might be desperate enough to buy them off you.
-
Yeah, I only started thinking about starters. Myers was good for the Mets.
-
I have a feeling its either going to be corny or just dull in an attempt to avoid corny.

Gwreck wrote: ="Johnny Dickshot"]Hooray Who was the last real good pitcher who came of age as a Met? Doc. No, seriously. Define "real good." Jones had a run of about 5 good years here before he started sucking, at this point Maine is no more accomplished than he was after a year and a half with the Mets.

Edgy DC wrote: From watching these Mets hit, which pitches to you get the impression they are best with? Reyes: swings at everything, but I think he hits the low ball better lefthanded, and the high ball righthanded. Lo Duca: Low Beltran: High Wright: Low and Away Delgado: Low Green: Low and In Valentin: Low Gomez: I dunno. Easley: High and Hard, I think. Castro: Up? Franco: High and Away. Ledee: No idea. i pretty much agree, though i think Wright swings too much out of the zone low and away. most lefties allegedly like it low and in. jeromy burnitz sure did.
