  1. come on pelfrey, help out and get that run in!
  2. double play bails pelfrey out why is he on a limit tonight?
  3. ]but I never hear it again as "Lazy Mary" is institutionalized i HATE lazy mary. either mix it up with a different thing every night, find a better song, or just play God Bless America (or how bout the less often heard America the Beautiful)
  4. statistics are a form of mystical voodoo while baseball is won with "heart" "clutch" and "jeter-ness"
  5. his own planet, inhabited by folks like jerome from manhattan
  6. Kerry Rhodes reading the mets lineup on FOX.... lets hope he doesnt bring the Jets losing ways with him
  7. my friend saw el duque too, he works at the social security office.
  8. i'm studying too much. i thought FOB was "free on board" and the Mets had to pay his shipping costs from seattle.
  9. i knew it wouldnt be him, this forum has conditioned me to sniff out phony thread titles
  10. If the city were a contractor and hte Nats were paying full value for a stadium i'd agree, but they are just the whining recipients of a gift.
  11. you must be listening to joe morgan and other such know-nothings too much. bunting sucks.

    Scary

thats certainly true. they also pre-check the "send me your junkmail" boxes for you each time you vote.
  13. pretty stupid of the government, which built them a free stadium, ro not force them to accept provisions in the contract that would prevent these disputes.
  14. worry about the WC if the division gets out of reach, theres no sense looking at plan B when plan A is still looking good

    Scary

the only "logic" i canthink of behind it is that this lets the less technically proficient have a closer number of votes to the supernerd who figures out how to vote 10000 times
  16. i heard it was great from someone. i also heard it was worse than "i am legend" which is hard to do. i couldnt't bring myself to shell out the $$ for this knowing that i want to see batman soon. give me a few more good reviews and i may just be persuaded

    Scary

Hart wins the NL fan vote. Thankfully, Longoria beat out yankee scum in the AL. ]"This year's balloting produced a gigantic level of voter turnout, in part because of how deserving each candidate was and, further, because of the unprecedented interest we're seeing in the All-Star Game," said Dinn Mann, executive vice president of content at MLB.com. Also, we let fans vote an unlimited number of times. The article put Wright as "a close second" but gives no vote total for him and doesnt give the difference between 1st and 2nd.
  18. oh, day game today, great. *remind self to check schedule in the morning instead of assuming there'll be agame to come home to
  19. ]I think Holliday costs too much and is a butcher in the field and on the bases 12 steals caught once this year, 11 steals caught 4 times last year, so unless he makes a bunch of baserunning blunders like timo perez i dont know where you are getting "butcher on the bases" from.
  20. i'm not a doctor, are these types of injuries detectable to any degree of certainty? is it standard procedure to run whatever test could have detected them (if any) when the patient says he is fine?
  21. a yankee fan i know was Carlos Beltran for Halloween in '06, he wore the jersey and a whiffleball bat... which was taped to his shoulder.
  22. we have an official game folks!
  23. ]The gripe from the city was that suburban residents would come to the city, see a game and get right back on the freeway. That was true, partly because the stadium had fantastic access to the freeways. But largely it was because there was nothing to do anyway. It wasn't like the area around Wrigley or Fenway. the same can be said about Shea
  24. the Jerry Manuel Era is looking sunnier
  25. Young is far from free agency isnt he? Wolf is really having a decent run but his ERA+ is still only 85 and he's a 31 year old average pitcher with an injury history, if they can get something useful for him they should jump on it, they wont miss him down the road.
