  1. that looks cheap to me, where were the mets on this???
  2. yeah church was hitting very well before the injury, but i don't know what to expect when he comes back.
  3. a 5.60 ERA and a 1.50 whip doesn't say "viable closer option" to me. 9 homers in 60 innings doesn't look good either, especially for a guy who puts so many batters on base.
  4. FUCK BUNTING, DAVID WRIGHT SHOWS THEM HOW ITS DONE, METS WIN! and FLA leads 3-0
  5. yay a fucking popup bunt! the mets deserve to lose
  6. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK i told you i wanted Kunz!
  7. Schoenweis cones on to pitch the 9th...
  8. Schoenweis in...
  9. maybe they could get Willie Randolph
  10. we could see Smith, Schoenweis, Kunz pitch to the first 3 batters in the 9th giving us 6 pitchers in 2 innings. pretty crazy
  11. Bud Black couldn't figure out how to make a doubleswitch properly and he's been thrown out of the game by the homeplate umpire after throwing down his lineup card
  12. FUCK the next one is off Reyes' glove for a single, its 3-2 now with bases still loaded. the mets go the pen again, joe smith, the 4th pitcher of the inning, will face kouzmanoff
  13. Reyes gets the lead runner at home, bases still loaded one out.
  14. Giles the ph for iguchi
  15. the mets will go to the lefty for Iguchi and Gonzalez.
  16. Kunz, why the heck not
  17. fuck sanchez hits hairston with a pitch
  18. come on wright, find a way to get on.
  19. ="seawolf17"]Well, we didn't need to call Kunz up from AA. Aaron Heilman could have done that. no, heilman would have walked kuzmanoff infront of headley for a 2-run shot. i dont care that kunz gave up the hr there, sometimes you get beat, just dont walk people infront of homers and you'll be ok
  20. i was at the game tonight and fwelt like the mets were gonna lose as soon as heilman walked the leadoff man. and if i were the manager [u:e7768ed8c4]i would have pulled him out of the game right there[/u:e7768ed8c4]. a 4 pitch walk with a 4 run lead is unacceptable. the 3-0 and probably even 2-0 pitches should have been right down the pipe if necessary.
  21. ="Iubitul":2veh4ilu]I was looking at buying a pair - when I was a kid, our local state rep had a pair of seats from the original Yankee Stadium in his basement, and I always wanted to get a pair from Shea. [/quote:2veh4ilu] are you daring to suggest that the present yankee stadium is not the original? Gwreck Aug 05 2008 01:52 PM Looks like the sale will be open to everybody (with priority to season ticket holders): http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/ballpark/save_a_piece.jsp themetfairy Aug 05 2008 01:55 PM I called. They're only selling to full season and larger season plan holders right now. They'll get around to the smaller plan holders (like Sunday plan holders) eventually - they wouldn't give me a time frame. I will say this - $869 a pair is high, but it does include shipping. We had to go down to the Vet to get those chairs, and they were pretty cumbersome to transport. Gwreck Aug 05 2008 01:57 PM Check out the link, TMF. They'll be offering it to plan holders starting on Monday, 8/18. You won't get your actual seats but it appears you can at least choose the color you want. I should add that it's very much like the Mets to say they have "no information" only to be contradicted by their own website. themetfairy Aug 05 2008 02:00 PM ="Gwreck":3gqv4gw2]Check out the link, TMF. G-Fafif Aug 06 2008 02:52 AM The missus and I were having this conversation the night before we learned of the plan. I said I could see buying one seat for like $350, with $500 the absolute upper limit of what I would spend in total (and I don't really have a discretionary seat fund at my fingertips). When we read the details, I'm like "forget it," but she's like "you'll regret it if you don't," and I'm like, "yeah, but who needs two?" Well, she said, we do. Where we gonna put two seats from Shea Stadium? I asked. Somewhere, she said. I've created a well-meaning monster. themetfairy Aug 06 2008 05:42 AM Of course you need two. Unless you're Archie Bunker, and you're the only one who's going to be allowed to sit on the good chair. bmfc1 Aug 06 2008 06:17 AM Cerrone cleverly reasons that the pricing was based on famous Mets years: "i assume the established price is a combination of the numbers 86 and 69, as in 1986 and 1969, the two seasons during which the Mets won a World Seriesvery clever" If the MFYs do that, they'll stick their dopey fans for $2,600. But if the G-F's were to invest in such a seating arrangement, it would constitute, by necessity, the sum of our mutual giftgiving for years to come. Or we could just sit on our Shea seats out on the curb with the rest of our stuff. themetfairy Aug 06 2008 01:12 PM I guess you won't be constructing a patio around them. Only a crazy person would do that.... G-Fafif Aug 06 2008 02:04 PM ="themetfairy":32q3m5by]I guess you won't be constructing a patio around them. Gwreck Dec 05 2008 08:42 PM Congrats! --- The Mets are still offering these seats for sale -- I wonder how many they actually sold. Seems like they definetly priced them too high. themetfairy Dec 05 2008 08:44 PM Thanks. themetfairy Dec 09 2008 07:01 AM They're here - Next step is getting them installed on the patio. Benjamin Grimm Dec 09 2008 07:02 AM Are those field level or upper deck? themetfairy Dec 09 2008 07:12 AM Field Level - orange. Benjamin Grimm Dec 09 2008 07:22 AM The lighting confused me. Parts of it look like the dark red from the upper deck. Edgy DC Dec 09 2008 07:23 AM If they were upper deck, she'd have to install them on the roof.
  22. i'm curious what share of this the city of new york, which owns the place, is getting. given the city's budget problems i'd hope they drove a hard bargain with the mets, and shouldnt they have a responsibility to the public to sell off city property for as much as they can get?
  23. STAY AWAY from livan hernandez's SIX ERA
