  1. Oh, that would have been nice. I was thinking, based on my own professional experience, that he was going to announce the layoff of thousands of fans.
  2. Well, certainly no players celebrate a win in a spring training game like Edwin Diaz did in the 2023 WBC. So there's that.
  3. I wonder if he's related to Bo Derek?
  4. I think "Grand Central" is a lot more dynamic than "Willets Point".
  5. I agree. I was glad that I was able to find a downloadable font to use.
  6. I don't know for sure, but it's probably better to avoid that just in case. I think the highway sign font works pretty well as an alternative.
  7. Not at all. The name "Grand Central" comes from the Grand Central Parkway, which is the highway that leads to Citi Field.
  8. I looked up the official shade, and tried that. It's quite a bit darker.
  9. I got the green from an actual photo, but I suppose the color would vary depending on the amount of sunlight.
  10. I think so too. That's why I created the third version, using the highway font.
  11. I was going for having it look just like a highway sign, with the exception of the Mets script, of course. I even found the font that the highway signs use!
  12. I think I'd like to see an option with the green and white of the highway signs.
  13. Mets Line is pretty generic. Grand Central has much more of a New York feel. And as I stated previously, it conveys a sense of motion and activity.
  14. How about "Grand Central Mets"? The 7-Line has co-opted the name of the subway that goes to Shea, I mean, Citi. We could do the same with the highway that goes there. It also suggests that the site is a hub of activity.
  15. I'm noticing that the Cubs site (North Side Baseball) and the Marlins site (Fish on First) does not incorporate the team name: About DiamondCentric - DiamondCentric DIAMONDCENTRIC.NET And the sites for the Blue Jays (Jays Centre) and Red Sox (Talk Sox) only include a partial team name. So the question becomes, how critical is it that the site include the word "Mets"? Or could we call it "Flushing Baseball" or "Who's on Third?"
  16. This is more like an illness than an injury, but Nolan McLean is recovering from a case of vertigo and as a result is reporting late to his WBC team.
  17. Barring an onslaught of injuries, I'm pretty certain that Tong will get at least a couple of months in Syracuse to get his stuff together.
  18. I assume this is a pre-WBC exhibition game?
  19. Or break the 99 ceiling and have three-digit numbers. If two of the digits are 1 (the narrowest number!) they should be able to fit three digits on the jersey.
