I agree with Monk. I'll be glad to get whatever we can out of Beltran over the next year and a half, but if an appealing long-term replacement becomes available before Carlos' contract runs out, I think you have to do what you can to secure him.

I gave it 3. Lots of fun, not as cool as the first one, though. Some key scenes took place on the site of the old Fairgrounds in Flushing. But not the derelict ruins that actually exist. The Marvel Movie Universe version of the fairgrounds is a lively, neon-splashed place. I was looking for a glimpse of Citi Field, but no luck. It was obviously a CGI landscape, so there would be no chance of Citi "accidentally" getting on camera. The battle with Whiplash in Monaco was probably the coolest scene. And Scarlet Johansen, not surprisingly, made for a sexy Black Widow.

With a rainout in Denver yesterday, might the Phillies be getting yet another home game, when the Rockies come to Philadelphia?

I wonder if the Islanders would consider Brooklyn, and once again rooming with the Nets.

I've learned that you always stay through the credits for a Marvel Studios movie.

Nice to see them get those two runs back at their first opportunity.

I'm down with items 1 and 2. Releasing Matthews would be no loss, since the Angels are paying the bulk of his salary. And grooming Mejia to be a starter makes a lot of sense to me. I wouldn't mind getting Cliff Lee either, of course, but that's easy to say in the abstract. Davidoff doesn't speculate on what it would take to get him.

DING! Esix Snead is correct. Circle gets the square.

HINT: The one start at leadoff for this guy was in the 2000's decade. He's an outfielder who totaled four hits, and one homer, in 13 at bats as a Met.
  20. Benjamin Grimm
Nope, Catalanotto is the only Met to bat cleanup in his one and only start for the team. TRIVIA QUESTION: Who's the one guy to make his one and only Metly start as a leadoff hitter?
