  3. Some of these seem to have way too many syllables.
  4. I can't imagine that Perez + Murphy would bring back anything other than an overpaid guy who the other team doesn't want. Sure, Murphy sweetens it a bit, but I don't think enough to make much of a difference.
  5. No Edgardo Alfonzo?
  6. I'll guess Piazza in the 2 slot.
  7. I'm with soupcan on this one. If the DH was only used in the All-Star game, I'd be quite happy.
  8. Both games of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep over the Dodgers will close on Friday morning. Schaefer POTG 4/27/10 (Game 1) - Mets 4, Dodgers 0 Schaefer POTG - 4/27/10 (Game 2) - Mets 10, Dodgers 5
  9. It's been probably about 20 years since I've watched an All-Star game. I haven't the slightest interest.
  10. The Mets only have one guy named "Davis" so there's no need to cast your vote for "Ike Davis." Also, only one Rodriguez, so please just vote for Rodriguez, not FRodriguez. Please remember, last names only! Thanks.

  13. I was born in 1963, and I'd also like to see more complete games. I think the pussies, though, are the managers who cling to pitch counts and save situations. I would suspect a lot of pitchers would like to be able to finish what they start. (Though some may be so young that the thought never occurs to them.)
  14. Holy shit... what's going on with this team??? Ashie definitely has the golden IGT touch, doesn't he?
  15. Looks like David Wright has dethroned Ed Kranepool as King of the Doubles.
  16. I've just be remembering it through ABC order, which is no longer in effect. Maine-Niese-Pelfrey-Perez-Santana

  20. I'm about 80 per cent sure that if Jerry were fired, his replacement's name would not be Bobby Valentine.
  21. I think I posted something a week or so ago (I'll have to try to find it) about how Jerry might need a 12-game winning streak to save his job. Well, he's halfway there! And it certainly seems that the death watch is on the back burner for a while.

  23. "On a miserable night Sunday, the 1-0 rain-shortened win over the Braves drew an announced 27,623, probably about 20,000 more than the number of people at Citi Field." This implies that there were about 7,000 people in the stands. Gwreck is saying that there were a lot more than that.
