Juan Lagares is so good he can cover most of the alphabet, from f to v.

No, he's sharing his c.v. tonight, which includes three peer-reviewed papers published in Centerfielders Quarterly.

Walker has to have the lowest slugging percentage of any cleanup hitter in the history of baseball

I do like seeing d'Arnaud creep ahead. I don't think hitting him 8th is good for him in particular

Somewhat surprisingly, given how awful he was until just recently, Jose Reyes is the only remaining player to have appeared in every game this season.

I'm starting to think that his deathwatch has shifted to Curtis Granderson.

Reyes is riding a 7-game hitting streak, at least. Granderson's OPS+ is 4. FOUR.

FOUR.[/bigpurple]

Among all 185 MLBers with enough qualifying ABs, he's the worst. By a lot. His .124 BA and .177 OBP are both the worst, and it's only his triple and home run that keeps his .213 SLG ahead of Byron Buxton of the Twins.

There's been no 'Granderson Suxx' thread this year. How can we possibly expect him to improve?

I was thinking of this last night, too.

I think Curtis' playing time has to diminish. (Unless Conforto goes into another post-April tailspin!) Against lefties I'd go with an outfield of Bruce, Conforto, and Lagares. And against righties, maybe Nimmo gets some of Granderson's starts once he gets back. And hopefully Cespedes is back soon (who knows?) and that would create even more pressure to have Curtis sit.

There's also Flores returning, and hopefully Duda isn't too far out. Two more infielders keeps Jay Bruce in the outfield. All this pressure is pointing at Curtis Granderson.

I think he'd probably be a perfectly fine pinch-hitter. It'd make it take that much longer to dig out of is hole, though, so he's going to have to look up at the scoreboard and see some wretched numbers no matter how decent he is doing going forward.

When he got signed for four years, I thought he'd be shifted to part time/reserve status in year three, so I already feel like anything we get from him his a bonus. I'd hate to waste too many PA going forward and not getting anything from him, however.

Or maybe he goes in trade for a relatively expensive, historically decent-to-good starting pitcher who has gotten off to an horrendous start. Bronson Arroyo or somebody. Heck, maybe Bartolo.

Man, not only is Harvey no match for an old, rusty, and gimpy knuckleguy, but the Braves have brought their glovies.
