Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 It'll be hard to top this evening's game, but the Mets are contractually forced to try. Wins over the last three games have given us a peek at what the rotation can do for a team, and a foolish young reliever has seemingly awoken our team's bats.Go get-em, boys!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 It'll be interesting to see if we'll see first inning Wheeler or subsequent, car crash innings Wheeler tonight.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Given the suddenly-precarious nature of the rotation, this is a big game for Wheels tonight.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Collins and Warthen are saying that Wheeler's struggles last week were because of the cold weather.I guess we'll see.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 That wasn't an all-negative outing. Just him coming back one rotation turn later is a positive, in my book.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I'm just looking for continual improvement from Zack. I'm rooting for him.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Never been high on Wheeler. Throws hard, but seems to have a straight, hittable fastball. Off-speed stuff is lackluster. Nothing is really swing and miss.Nibbles a lot, I guess because he has a straight, hittable fastball, his off-speed stuff is lackluster, and doesn't have a swing and miss pitch.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 That guy who gave up the epic Cabrera walkoff last year threw behind him on Monday.Mets haven't stopped scoring since.

Not that it always is - but it can be his swing and miss pitch.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Reportedly a manager's decision, not injury-induced.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I like it.Has the FBI found Jose Reyes yet?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Conforto led off the game with a single and came around to score on a Yo double. Ces then tried to steal third (with Bruce up...why?) and was rundown and tagged out. 1-0 Mets
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 How do you bench that, exactly?
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Anybody know what the little circular patch on the Phillies right arms is? Blue circle with a Phillie 'P' inside what looks like a silver capital 'D'.
