Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Nats bringing the big guns to St. Lucie. Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Dudarino scratched with back stiffness, Internet says, out a few days at least.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 I'm mildly tempted to turn it on, but I'm going to refrain. I like the idea of having my first exposure to baseball this year be when it counts, on April 3.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Rosario at short now with Cecchini at second.#future
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 I love David Wright but hate this dumbass Gelbs interview.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 This Blevins is a disaster. Sad!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Gelbs totally lacks Guys' ability to continue calling a game during an interview.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Bases bloated and no outs.Let's go, METS!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 And Rivera does the 1-2-3 double play.H8!
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Man, that was ugly. Very, very happy to see him not carted off there, but def needed help coming down the dugout steps.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 McGowan getting pummelled. They're extolling the arm of Rosario, but the throw came in high, which is what set Plawecki up for the injury.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 This McGowan kid is tryna work the deGrom/Gsellman vibes, but his hair needs work, as does his game.Yup, on Rosario. That replay shows a dead-on throw woulda kept Plawecki out of the line of fire. But Dom Smith looks smooth out there.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 GKR in mid-season goofy form. Keith wants to trade off the games he works, Ronnie wonders why they don't have a 'Two-hour rule' in spring training, and Gary busts Ron for being on MLB Network every single day.Ah, welcome back, guys.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Keith's best comment, which I wish he would have elaborated on, was that a developing player should be a good hitter first, and let the power come. In this case, he was backing Dominic Smith's approach.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 I really like our Las Vegas/JV guys alot.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Radio guys criticized Smith for the Plawecki play, saying he threw to 2nd too soon.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Nice to see a comeback, but it was a sloppy game. Asides from that Plawecki play, where a buncha mugs seem to have played it poorly, depending on your angle, the first run on an RBI single from Conforto, in which the big guy gave himself up at second totally un-necessarily.It was also the second time in two games they come up empty after loading the bags with no outs.Wright went on about the depth in his in-game interview, saying it was the most depth he had seen on any Mets team he's been on. That was probably at least half spring training glurge, but it was totally the second and third string who hit them back into the game.

He ran towards the hung-up runner who started to retreat to second. The runner at third is never gonna break for home until Smith throws to second anyway. As Edgy pointed out, Rosario woulda had him dead-to-rights at home with a better throw.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Smith does look as advertised with the glove, though. Real smooth. And I already said it, but the Vegas boys - Rivera, Nimmo, Cheech, Dom Smith, and Rosario will be there soon enough, they looked very competent.
