Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 Grand Slam Diaz for the Cards. 5-2 StL in the 4th.Diaz, btw, was a childhood friend of Jose Fernandez and left the team yesterday to spend the day with the Fernandez family.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Final in St. Louis : Reds 2, Cardinals 1.Kolton Wong had a leadoff triple in the bottom of the ninth but was stranded.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Author Posted September 29, 2016 And the Rox are now up 2-0 in top 7
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Buster Posey bats as the winning run with two outs in the ninth, but grounds out. The Rockies beat the Giants 2-0.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 A glorious night. An enchanted evening.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 A magical night, reducing the old number of magick to 2.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Yeah everything except the Red Sox failing to clinch at MFY Stadium when Kimbrel and whoever blow a 3-run 9th inning lead and lose on a grand-slam by Teixera. We'll have to get them back for that in the World Series if we don;t wind up facing Cleveland that is.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 How about some love for the Cincinnati Reds as they wrap up their season. These glorious Reds were nice enough to go 0-6 against our beloved Mets, while posting a respectable 9 wins against St. Louis. Two of three in this last series really put a dent in their playoff hopes going into the weekend. Thank you Reds. You may now re-commence sucking.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Aaack. I spoke too soon! Reds have one more game against the Cards.Crap. Put sucking on hold for one more day. Just kidding!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 In Cincinnati, they're tied at 1 after three with[youtube:23pm4q1v]FkLTwX0duY4[/youtube:23pm4q1v]

If the Cards win I will console myself by listening to Red Rain at max volume.I think the Reds are gonna rain down some runs tho.Peraza just singled with 2 out in the 7th.Still 3-1 Cards.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Reds score in the 8th. 1 on, no out. 3-2 Cards.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Reds tie it 3-3 with 2 out in the 9th!! yayoooeeeeyeaaaa.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Reds tie it on a cheapie. 2 out 2 strike nubber drives a run in
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Two outs, runner on third, 1-2 count, top of the ninth, the Reds score the tying run on a slow grounder to third that's an infield hit!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 [fimg=200:3e76s4rp]http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/cin/images/fan_forum/y2010/letsgoreds_sign_310.gif[/fimg:3e76s4rp]Cards get a man on with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th. Grichuk up. 24 dingers. Hmm.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Rockies score 2 in the first in San Francisco!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Cardinals win in the ninth. Oh well.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Wow. Fuck you fat ass. Fuck you Reds.Cards walk-off in the 9th. Molina RBI double. Reds should have had Carpenter at the plate, I feel, but they bungled their shit.Might be reviewed. Talk of it possibly being a ground rule double.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 The Reds might want to have this reviewed but the umps have left the field.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 That should be a ground rule double. That's some bull spit by the umps. How the hell is that not reviewed?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Looked to be in play all the way to me. Reds just messed up both ends of the relay throw.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 It hit the back wall pretty clearly I thought. That makes it a ground rule double. I think it ought to be 2nd and 3rd.But never mind what I think. How do the umps just leave the field leaving the Reds with no ability to challenge?

I didn't watch the entire game. If they had one left then they have to pick this game up and finish it. This is pretty preposterous.OE: according to MLBtv, it's ovah! Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Apparently those advertising signs, above and also slightly in back of the regular wall, are in play and it's the railing behind both of them that determines HR/not and also in-play/not so that hit was a live ball. But, yeah, having the losing manager chase the umps down the runway in a case like while the home team dog-piles at the plate and the cameras and microphones are coming out to do post-game interviews is one of many problems that apparently no one anticipated when they slapped together this replay rule.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 On a play where there is any question, and this was certainly one, the umps should just do their job and wait to see if there is a protest. At least look at the bench/manager to see if there's a possibility of one. What, was there a swingin' ump party after the game or something? WTF?
