Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 (edited) So whilst we're in Cincy ...- the Marlins host the Phils for 3 games starting this afternoon at 1:00- [u:3tc04ctq]Cardinals are at Pittsburgh[/u:3tc04ctq] so we'll be getting mixed results from that series, but I think we need to mostly send good vibes to the Pirates now that we have a 2.5 game gap on them. 4:00 game today.- Giants (now just 2.5 ahead of us) go to Denver. 4:10 start- Dodgers host the DBacks, Greinke vs Maeda starts it off at 8 EDT tonight - Braves head to Washington for a 4:05 game where they get to face Scherzer. Better them than us. Edited September 5, 2016 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 Philly stepping on the Marlins, 6-2 so far, top of 7th
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Giants manage to get themselves shut out at Coors, 6-0, and are now only half a game ahead of St. Louis for the first WC spot.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Scherzer mostly did the Scherzer thing.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I'm so rooting for Colorado to color their way back inside the lines.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hmm. It's basically down to 3 teams for two spots now. And you have to like their chances. (knocks wood furiously)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Pirates served up a Yadi Molina 1st inning Grand Slam and were down 5-0 to the Cards early, have come back to take a 6-5 lead and are still batting in the 5th
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 And Matt Carpenter ties the game in Pittsburgh with a pinch-hit solo HR with 2 outs on an 0-2 pitch in the 9th
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) And now a double & HR later (Molina & Grichuk) and it's 8-6 Cards.oe: And now another HR !!! (Peralta)So how's that Melanin trade working out for you Buccos? Edited September 7, 2016 by Guest
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 You know what Pittsburgh? Fuck yourself in your own ass.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 The Pirates are just a train wreck right now.I saw a couple innings of their game on Monday and they were making mistakes, errors, bad pitches all over the place. And while everyone can look just as pathetic in such a small sample when it's in the middle of a seven game losing streak you tend to think that's what they look like all the time. Then they go out today and give up a 1st inning GS.But when they fought back to actually take the lead after that disaster of a beginning they must have thought that things were turning for them ... and then came those four consecutive batters in the 9th.Pitt came back with a solo HR in the bottom of the 9th but it's a case of T-L-T-L
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Giants lost, that's something.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Did they? The interwebs tell me it's 2-2 in the bottom of the 8th.I'm in Napa for work and, annoyingly enough, my hotel doesn't carry the Giants' broadcast station. And I can't watch the game on MLB.tv since I'm in their blackout zone.Mets now need to go 14-9, an eminently non-miraculous .609 winning percentage, to get to FK's magic 87-win number. And given the way that every contending team that doesn't have a bird on their bat has been rolling over, it may not even be necessary to win 87.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Watching SF now. Giants are up 3-2 in the 9th. OMG, umpires really suck these days. How could he get that wrong in real time? A force play @3rd, the guy was out by 2 feet!Still only 1 out, 2 on.OE: WP, 2nd & 3rd
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Rockies get the tying run to the plate. 1 out, man on 1st. DP! Game oveh! They looked like they were trying though. That Buc pitcher who gave up all the homers....I'd check his bank account for the next few weeks and see if there is a large deposit.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 For the last month, the Rockies have been showing more heart than the rest of that division put together. Good for them. I'm totally rooting for them to get back in it.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Shit. Nats have 1st & 3rd, 1 out, down by a run in the 10th.
