1) One person has been honored, in one way or another, by 4 separate franchises, and another has been honored by three separate franchises Name them, and the franchises.

2) Oddly enough, 13 Retired Numbers, or variations of such an honor such as Broadcaster Mics, names, etc (not including Jackie Robinson's #42) represent players or personnel that for whatever reasons are not enshrined in their respective team's Halls.

To be fair and some hints, 8 are due to a franchise's Wall of Honor not representing a team's relocation or non-playing personnel, 1 is a number symbolizing an event as opposed to a specific person, 1 is a number that was officially retired for a brief period (oddly enough the number has since been retired again, but no recognition has been made for its previous honoree) and 2 are broadcast honorees whom have yet to be selected, in one form or another, to their franchise's hall.

3) Finally, an interesting oddity, in my going through the names, I've found two instances where an honoree has the same names, but different persons entirely. One set is a 1940s position player, and a 1960s pitcher. And the other set is a long time infielder, and a long time coach and skipper.

The Indians retired the number of consecutive sellouts at Jacobs Field in the '90s. I think that number was 432, or something ridiculous like that. So we'll never see a Cleveland Indian wearing 432 on his back.

My guess is Bob Lemon, because Jim Lemon's full name was James Robert Lemon.
Are you that sneaky?

Cal Ripken Sr and Jr with the Os

Technically they are in the same HOF, ditto Griffeys in the Reds Hall.

Yup, that's one. The other is much more obscure. A Reds 1940s outfielder, and a 1960s Giants pitcher, Mike McCormick.

1) Dave Winfield and Rickey Henderson may have been honored by three separate franchises.
I can only name the two obvious for both but at a loss for what the third might be.

No idea on four, I'd think it would be easier but have no clue at the present time.

Nope to both. Henderson is in no such, as the A's only have retired numbers and none of Rickey's other franchises have honored him in any like manner.

Winfield is just in the Padres Hall of Fame.

Nolan Ryan with Angels, Astros, Rangers for one of the 3-time honorees.

Ryan is the only 3-time honoree, well unless you count the only 4-time honoree as he just got his 4th this summer

Torre…Braves, Cardinals, Yankees/

Nope. Just Cardinals and Yankees.

This was killing me. I found one player with a very long career who was indeed
honored this year but don't want to post him name since I, ya know, CHEATED!
And it still may not even be the right answer!

The list for Torre does not include the Mets - on merit. (actually, lack thereof)

I gave this one to my son of all people on a long car ride. His guess and its not a bad one: Gaylord Perry.

Nope, just Indians HOF and Giants Wall of Honor.

Nope, just Indians HOF and Giants Wall of Honor.

And soon to be a statue in SF for Gaylord.

Only the Mariners. Ray's do not have a HOF

LOL!

This is a really interesting quiz. Well done, Steve. I'm intrigued by the number that was retired/un-retired/re-retired.

Oddly enough, its only recently that the Yankees began to honor their "less than border line HOF talent" on a consistent basis with Martinez, Posada, Bernie Williams, Pettitte and O'Neill from the late 1990s championships.

Though to be fair, Piniella did "stray" from the Yankees for quite a while, unlike Stottlemyre and Randolph who were mainstay coaches on the Torre era teams. So that might explain away that.
