Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I'm not sure what my plans are for the WC and NLDS right now (pending of course) but I did actually win the postseason lottery to buy tickets a few times so if two of you want to use my extra winning code gimme your email and you can have it. (tickets go on sale in 20 minutes..)

The only possible way is if the Mets win the NL East and finish with a better record that the NL West winner as well. If the Mets do make it to the NLCS as the wild card team, Home Games 1 and 2 will be played at Citi Field on Monday and Tuesday, October 10 and 11. The Wild Card game would be on a Wednesday. If any of the games fell on a weekend I'd take a shot at getting tickets, but I can't realistically get to Citi Field for a weekday night game, so I'll pass. (Not that I would have been likely to get tickets anyway.)
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 This dude from the ticket office has left me three voice mails and this morningemailed me about the voice mails and wanting to give me a sales pitch. He signedit and said, "GO METS!!!"I emailed him back my ticket-plan situation for next year (not interested) and beingthe dick that I sometimes can be had to correct him that it's LET'S GO METS!!! I meangeez, know your freakin' stuff if you're gonna try to sell/market it to fans.GO METS!!! Why I oughta...

Why I oughta...I picked up one of them a while back and the guy was hardcore pushing despite me pointing out that there were zero benefits to me locking down tickets.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 i think the same guy called me.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 For the record, considering I was a lock for a no-sale he did take the time to write me back with a nice note and acknowledged that it is indeed LET'S.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Going to be in Chicago this coming weekend for the Chicago Marathon. If the Mets win Friday night I think I'll be shelling out to attend Mets v Cubs, game 1 Friday night at Wrigley. My first ever postseason game!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Good luck! I hope you get to go. I can only imagine how much that ticket might cost!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Cheapest non-standing room ticket is $183 for Division Series Game 1 in Chicago. It's the World Series tickets for the Cubs that will be running in the several thousands on the secondary market.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Wrigley is Wrigley, but I can't imagine how useless an SRO pass to a playoff game would be.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 We've got tickets to NLDS Game 4. Or, rather, Theoretical NLDS Game 4.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I'll be there Wednesday. I may have missed more of this season than I wanted to (although I did get to about 7 or 8 games) but I haven't missed a do-or-die Mets home game in quite some time.LGM

After knocking them out 2 years in a row, the Mets should at least comp them a few seats. It's the sporting thing to do.

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 My old college roommate - a native Clevelander and Indians fan now living in the DC area - just called me to say his wife has to work and can't make the trip to Cleveland to go to Game 7 with him. So I'm getting her ticket. If the Indians are up 3-2 after game 5, my rooting interest for Game 6 has now become seriously conflicted.

It's GAME SEVEN. That's awesome.
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 No he doesn't! He'll look like a fool!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 It depends on what's stronger, your rooting interest or your desire to go to the game.If I had Mets tickets for World Series Game 7, and the Mets were up 3 games to 2, I'd be totally rooting for them to win Game 6.
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Well yeah, but what if the other team was?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I can't think of any scenario where I'd be rooting for the Mets to lose the sixth game of the World Series.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I'd be satisfied with the Mets winning it all in a Game 6 while holding a ticketfor Game 7. I'd put a frame around it and hang it over the bar (if I had one). Not sure how I'd feel about Chad's scenario; seeing the Cubs continue their century-long failure to win it all at the hands of The Tribe (in Cleveland) wouldbe awfully sweet!
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 If it were the Mets, no question I'd be rooting for a quick end to the WS over a chance to see Game 7. For my AL cheat team, there's less of a pull. And my buddy has said that he'd still root for the Indians to win 6, Game 7 ticket or not.
