Guest cooby classic Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I think it must be if we read the IGTs from the dodger series. And BG can have his mug of tea and we'll be all set
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 D-Dad will host one of his legendary tailgate parties tomorrow and G-Fafif will be in the house. Definitely factors that are conducive to righting the ship!

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 All three games (For the tailgating. I don't know about G-Fafif's ticket situation beyond tomorrow.)

Last night was my fault.Everybody recheck your positions tomorrow night! I'll be on the far end of the couch with some Rooster Red if I have to be!BTW I only have to bail on Monday and Wednesday nights. Do they have next Monday off? I so, I'll be there for the rest of the games! Well, on the couch at leastPerhaps it would help if you would post that adorable video of your grandson? And yes - Monday is an off day

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Luckily game 3 coincides with my weekend-only alcohol consumption personal rules. I will imbibe as well. For luck, you know.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) After reading this thread, I realize that since the WS started I haven't worn this hoodie (below) at all. I bought it near the end of the regular season and I did get to wear it a few times during the remainder of the regular season, the NLDS and NLCS. But I haven't worn it in about a week. I have to do some supermarket shopping tomorrow and I think I'll put on the hoodies while I shop. I ain't superstitious but I do dig that hoodie. Edited October 29, 2015 by Guest
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I like that hoodie. I need me that hoodie. Last time I spent $$ on anything Mets (not baseball card related) was when I bought that 4th of July cap, which I'm sure I waved all around here like a 12 yr old. That had to be....2007? It was the year they sold the dark blue cap with the stars & stripes NY. So I'm gonna throw some money at em so they can pay Cespedes and offer Murphy 2 years. About the WS hats: The reg blue cap w/orange NY is straight up reg hat material. The one with the white NY (orange piping) is a kind of cross mesh material. Looks very kool. Holds a bridge better out of the box.Oh also, I saw something in another thread about washing hats. Don't recall if I posted this: They have these plastic hat shaped supporter things that you can put inside the cap when you wash it, and it really saves the bridge of the cap from collapsing.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Those have orange pull strings. AHHHHH, I need two now!

You can still get contrasting or secondary color drawstrings for every team -- but not the Mets. I wanted the orange strings, too.
Guest El Segundo Escupidor Guests Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 When I entered the US in June the Mets were 6 above .500. On the day i left 3 weeks later they were 1 below .500...... things need to balance out?
Guest El Segundo Escupidor Guests Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Well, it's ON YOU to find another mantra. DANCE DANCE DANCE? WOCKA WOCKA WOCKA? Give me something.Reminds me of the description of the pre-fight scene in WHEN WE WERE KINGS, where Ali faced a certain heavy defeat:Before the fight, I saw a scene that was incomparable. 'Ali's dressing room was like a morgue.' It was like The Last Supper. And at a certain point Ali said, "Why is everyone... "so unhappy? "What is the matter with all of you?" The sense was that we were watching a man who was going out to be... going out to the gallows. They all believed he was gonna get defeated and they were terrified. They thought that with his pride he would take one of the world's worst beatings ever and he wouldn't give up. And he was gonna be destroyed. Killed or maimed, they knew not what. But they were deeply frightened, as if they were taking whatever fear Ali might have had and absorbing it. After a while he looked at Bundini and said, "We're gonna dance tonight." They said, "You're gonna dance!" Muhammad Ali was so funny repeating this. "What am I gonna do?!" They said, "Dance!" He said, "Yes! And that man's gonna be bewildered! "I'm gonna dance and dance!" And they said, "You're gonna dance!" I swear they were all crying. And he built them up to a degree so that for him they became half-happy

It's a squeaking toy that shoots out it's tongue party-favor style when you put your hand in and press the squeaker. My son loved it when he was little. Pinstriped uniform and all blue cap. Damn, I need to find it tonight. It could be the missing piece to our success.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 it's possible it's the same one then. (I only say 80s cause that's my aunt says, but easily could be misremembering) Wonder where it's from.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I have (or had) one of those puppets too. It was a promotional giveaway during the years I had partial season tickets (1986 through 1992) but I don't know what year it was from.
