Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I haven't had this much fun watching any sport since the 2007 Giants Super Bowl run. I'm just giddy.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 7 game lead. If we can maintain this and whittle the games down to say around 17 or so then I'll start to feel safe.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I just wanted to be in here and say i'm happy.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) I am elated. You know you have a good team when Lagares can be a designated defensive replacement guy.CESPEDES FOR ALL OF US Edited September 9, 2015 by Guest

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Strasburg was really looking incredible for the bulk of the game, but I was keeping an eye on his pitch count. It remained fairly low for a while (I can't find an inning-by-inning breakdown) but it eventually creeped up to the 100-pitch mark. I was hoping it would get to 100 before the 8th inning so that we'd see the Washington bullpen all the earlier. That didn't quite happen, but the end result was what I was looking for/hoping for. I was just about certain that Cespedes would hit a home run. I haven't had that feeling about a Mets player, I don't think, since Darryl Strawberry during some of his hotter streaks.

Maybe that was someone else, you bandwagon-jumper.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Just like 1814, Washington got burned.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Just incredible. Strasburg looked on his way to a 15-k complete game, I left for a run and they'd taken the lead before I'd gotten 10 blocks. We couldn't have demoralized that team any more than if Terry went up into the stands and banged Matt Williams wife while the game was going on.
