Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Nice! Was Dana Eveland a Met at one time, too?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Had a good year as a Mets in 2014.Suddenly, we have seven eighths of a lineup.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Dudes behind the plate, try and act like humans. You're creeping out my pitcher.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I submit that Familia is worthy of consideration for the All-Star team.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 In the books! An amazing comeback! That has to be a morale-boosting win after last night's debacle.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Libros!Had 'em all the way.Good win.Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Got to like Ceciliani with that OF assist yesterday and today's bomb.Too bad Cuddyer won't play third.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 What a weird game...it's nice to see the Mets win one of these.I think it's the first time this season that I had mentally written off their chances of winning yet they surprised me by coming back to win the game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 Best win of the year? Mebbe. Certainly the most unexpected.Could have been a sweep but for the (rare) bullpen failure on Saturday. But we skated past some danger in both Friday's game on today's so we can't get too greedy. And how 'bout a 10-8 game with 28 hits, 7 walks, and 16 Ks in under three hours? Barely under (2:59) but under. See, it can be done.Take that Yanx/O's who are approaching hour 3 still in the 7th inning of a 5-3 contest. And also Houston/ChiSox a couple days ago who somehow stretched a 4-1, 8-1/2 inning game into 3:12
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Nice! This is the "sack up" type of win I've been looking for all season. Is it me or have the bats woken up since being no hit? Now let's get David back and win this thing.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Have to admit I turned this off at 8-3 and was totally surprised to find they won 10-8.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 I'm not going to claim now that I saw the comeback coming, but this game had a whiff to it from the very beginning that something out of the ordinary was not just possible but almost likely. If they hadn't answered for an inning or two after it became 8-3 then the interest level would have gone down, but that they came back with 2 in that same inning, which turned out to be the second straight 'crooked number' inning and the first of four straight, kept the optimism up.Nice also to see a lot of the fire power come from the young pups.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Banner Day was fun, and the game was insane. It was fun seeing the Lunchbuckets and their banner, and metsmarathon with minimm. And I made Newsday!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Nice TMF. This was an amazin' game. I'll look for the JCL tribe while I review it again. The homers from Herrera and Ceciliani really surprised me. And d'Arnauds blast was wicked.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Great game! I also felt like we could and possibly would win this one. I think it was how easily we scored in the 1st even though it took a wild pitch. That said the Lagares home run shocked me; he was down 0-2 in that AB as usual. Darnaud makes the whole lineup come alive. The banner was pretty much a last minute decision: we had tickets already, found out it was banner day only last week, and made it up last night. Changed the concept at the last minute and personally feel like we totally won but I think Karl is too subversive for the Wilpons; they prefer ones that espouse family values. On our way past first base we encountered Carlos Torres who signed our banner.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 i'd have to backtrack into history, and i don't keep track of these kinds of things, but i think that most games minimm has been to have involved a mets win. the kid is fast too. he blazed around hte bases after the game so fast i barely got one photo of him, which remains to be plucked from my camera...he had a very good time, though i don't think he actually payed too much attention to the game. unfortunately i got to the game too late to see the bannering, or get a nathans'-branded cap, but did meet up briefly with tmf, and snagged a pepsi party patrol t-shirt that landed in the aisle next to me. i may not have any luck getting actual baseballs at ball games, but this is my third t-shirt.

The party patrollers are subconsciously aiming for you.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 funny, I almost got a t-shirt on Tuesday. Was up in the excelsior. Saw one hit the corner but wasn't sure if it tipped in or fell down. I sorta meandered over there (no one in the last two sections, and this was pre-game) but an usher hustled over and grabbed it and gave it to a kid 2 sections over who seemed to have no idea what was going on. but hey, free shirt!
