Might as well put this here, but a cyber-friend posted on FB that he had purchased his Sunday plan, only to get a confirmation from the Oakland Athletics!

D'OH!

FWIW, the funniest thing about this though, immediately a "Wilpon must sell and be jailed" troll jumped on the opportunity to blame Fred & Jeff for something that clearly was an MLB.com ticketing glitch in the mass mailing of purchase confirmations system.

my opening day and may 16th tickets came Thursday.

It'd be funnier if the confirmation email came from the Cubs or something.

Actually, I should follow up with my cyber friend to see if somehow the glitch got him subscribed to Athletic mass mailings, the way I'm still subject to Phillie mass mailings since buying tickets through them back in '06!

Its just the knee jerk reaction. Same one that blames EVERYTHING on the sitting POTUS or the majority leaders in Congress for the crap in this country according to your political mindset.

If this was a problem on the Mets level, sure blame the person whom supposedly the buck stops with, be my guest. There are plenty of CEOs who will bite the bullet when something falls in the organizational chain.

But this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE METS! Nada, zip, ziltch. But because it happened to a Met fan when purchasing a ticket plan online, it doesn't get the "D'OH! YOU HAD ONE JOB!" type of yuks that other teams would get, especially since it was a glitch in the confirmation mailing system, probably a coding error. But it gets the "blame the Wilpons, 'cause they are EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVIIILLLLLLLL" response because they are currently the laughingstock of MLB.

BTW, you calling me out for seemingly having a hard on, which I don't, I'm just poking fun at an obvious troll's obvious behavior, suggests that you seem to have more of a problem with people mentioning the Wilpons in a positive manner.

This part, I get. I don't need the 300 word explanation.

I thought I was poking some fun, too. But this is getting even funnier now, the way you're getting all over the top riled up over this. And your cock innuendos (which, to be truthful, I don't even understand). Whatever. Go ahead and defend the Wilpons all you like. It really didn't bother me. I won't lose sleep over it. And I wasn't going for such an overreaction. If I ever run into you at Citi Field, I'll treat you to a hot dog with all the dijonnaise your heart desires. Peace.

I wish I never wrote that first post in the first place.

Going June 12, Braves @ Mets. My 14-year-old nephew will be working the game as a ballboy.

(Spellcheck corrected "ballboy" to "bellboy." Now I want to see him work the sideline in a pill-box hat with a chinstrap.)

See you at the Opener. Pre-game tailgating, as always (please stop by everyone!).

I will be at Games 2 and 3 in Washington. I can think of one thing I can do with the giveaway "Rally Towel" on Wednesday but it might hurt my rear end.

My good friend whose one great flaw is that he's a Braves fan and I have a tradition of taking in a Braves-Mets game in Flushing. This year we're bringing our sons for the first time. Should be a fun time, especially for the boys who jumped up and down when we told them we were going to a game together. Look for us April 23rd, if you're there too.

We used our Kids Klub vouchers to get Sunday games of May 17, May 31 and June 14. Seats available for these games not nearly as good as the ones we got last season, I'm not sure if that's a function of better overall sales or just worse Kids Klub availability, but I'm breaking all my rules and going into the outfield for most of these.

I intend to augment this schedule with the Lunchie Plan of buying random value-tier weeknight games at the window when the weather is nice.

Also got Mets-Red Sox tickets in August: Those are stupid expensive already as Fred clearly would prefer Red Sawx Nation to come on down to New York town.

I'm actually going to be there - I'd love to see you!

Haven't redeemed my Kids Club vouchers yet myself. The 'gotta use all 10' thing is getting me. Mostly because I don't know how Sophie will handle games in general. So do i pick 5 Sat/Sun games with the expectation she'll be fine, or picks games where the grandparents can baby sit and/or single week-day games for just me?

Do whatever works. With a one year old you can just bring her or not, so it's not like you have to consider her an extra ticket. My experience is that you and her will both get much more from the experience once she's a little older.

Thanks in large part to some seasonably-warm weather forecasts, we (the kid and I, as wifey is working that evening) will be breaking bread next Harvey Night with 20-some-odd thousand good friends.

Will you?

Get in there early, the gnome count is kinda chintzy.

Unlike years' past, where Fboy and I buy a pair of seats months ahead of time so that we can put it on the calendar, this year we're going to wait and watch the schedule and pick a game where Harvey or deGrom are pitching, as Fboy wants to see one of them on the hill. Still likely to be a weekday matinee or a Saturday game for ease of scheduling/travel.
