Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Helloooooooooo, Denver!Forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and 54 degrees at gametime.Colon opposes RHP Juan Nicasio. Start a thread if you know something else about the Rockies.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Is that... Lloyd Lindsey Young?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Heeeellllloooooo! Why, yes, it is!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Sign him up and we can have an all-Young outfield.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Lagares is back and Nieuwenhuis down. I really need to know this enemy.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 The Mets once wore their home jerseys against the Rockies in Denver. When? Why?
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I believe it was on the anniversary of the Rockies first game -- which was at Shea. But the celebration was in Denver. And the Mets wore "the wardrobe of failure" -- the jerseys with the tail. Seriously, what the hell were they thinking with those jerseys?

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 So Eric Young is the first outfielder to sit out a dance now that the four-man rotation is in effect.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 First time out there for the defensively-enhanced Young-Laggy-Grandy outfield alignment that Alderson envisioned in the offseason. Just in time for a trip to the biggest outfield in the big leagues, too.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Point taken. In my mind, Chris Young went down in game one, not game two.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I like this lineup best with the current roster, but I do wonder when/if Curtis will end the season-long slump. Its only Year 1 of this albatross of a contract

I was geeked about getting a Mets jersey with that name on the back! I have a road Bonilla that was on super-clearance at Manny's Baseball Land's outlet in Florida. I kinda like to road version. It's the tail on the iconic Mets on the home that I found upsetting.Didn't mean to thread jack!

I will. He became the de facto owner in charge of the Mets around the time that Al Harazin became the team's GM. And MLB needs at least a year's lead time to authorize a uniform change. So yeah .... the timing is right ... there went eff Wilpon deciding to put his personal stamp on the Mets brand and image and about the first order of business was a pointless (and Dodger-like) remake of the classic Mets home uniform wordmark.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 The team might have won the pennant with better unis....
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 This game started earlier than I thought ... just turned it on expecting to see end of pre-game.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 The only home Mets jersey I have is one of the ones with the tail.I don't wear it so much. I stick to the road grey, even at Citi Field.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Not looking sharp tonight.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 That drive that Lagares caught was Denver in a nutshell. Nothing hit that hard and straightaway doesn't knuckle, but that thing almost flew right past his ear.
