Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 The still surging Mets and moribund Giants go at it again after a mini-marathon last night. Dillon Gee and Barry Zito are your starters. Not mine, but my sense of reality is oft askew. Will both catchers get the night off after going the full sixteen last night? Will the Mets add the elusive Gonzalez Germen to the roster to help out the overworked bullpen? Will Josh Satin get the start at 2B, giving the slumping Daniel Murphy a night off? Will Andrew Brown get the start at first? Will Juan Lagares get back out there in center field? Will Rogers? For the answer to these and other questions, tune in tonight for:Anthony Recker: Pitcher and CatcherorThe Cheeks of San Francisco
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Nice thread title. Nice post. I'm thinking GG is warming up in some virtual bullpen until the Mets make a decision about putting Marcum on the DL.Later
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 If they're going to skip Marcum, why not DL him? This is what used to drive me nuts in the Omar/Willie/Jerry days; they'd insist on playing with a 23- or 24-man roster for long stretches. Hopefully Sandy sees the need and fills it.

DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 The DocTees will be in attendance (minus one, who is in dance camp...dance camp!). Mama and Papa Tee in our Mets gear, lil tee in her Giants/Panda gear (we tired everything, up to and including waterboarding, but when you are seven and the the home team has two titles its hard to go against the playground peer pressure).

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Nice! Great throws and a great plate block. Recker, don't show any compassion for thy enemy please.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I surprised Scutaro got up from that. The only downside is that Swannie & Edgy are jealous that someone else got to run into Recker that hard.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 That was a great relay throw by the Q man there.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Brown robbed by Takahaka Kawakaka in left. Fuck.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Jeeze. They put a 2nd baseman out there and he does that. Nice catch.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 probably a double off the wall not a homer.hey what the fuck Quintanilla??? thats an infield hit??
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Their outfield seems to make magnificent plays and absolutely horrifying plays, and little else in between.Pence is, like, perfect for the team.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Double ugh. Muffie with the shitty throw home to get nobody.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Ugh. Bad throw Reck! To be fair Murphy looked slow getting to second. And now Murph with a bad throw home makes it 2-0.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Gee, this inning does NOT smell terrific.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 There has to be a logical reason why the Giants have a security guy in each corner of the outfield. That's ridiculous.

One tucked in each outfield corner right on the foul side of the line, in a very small area between the foul line and the wall of the stands. One of em was involved in a play the other night. There must be some reasoning as to why, but I can't think of a single one.
