Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Backhand grounder to Q for the first out.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Easy fly to Torres for out number 2.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 And a grounder to Murphy ends it!

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 He wouldn't be where he is today were I not cracking the whip, but he's earned the right to 2 movie premieres and a guest slot on Letterman. Git along little Dickey!

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Terry in the postgame said R.A. is OK as long as the weather cooperates. Makes me think somebody -- maybe the Braves -- will try a rain dance if he keeps going as is.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Could you imagine how fucking thrilled we'd be with this season without the washout in Atlanta?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Into each life, some rain must fall. But just a little.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Dickey jumps from 13th to eighth in the league in ERA. And despite my incomprehensible screams about the manager's hook, he leads the NL in innings pitched. Also totally undercutting my position (at least, it would if my position was built primarily in criticism of Terry Collins), Johan Santana leads the NL in both complete games and shutouts, with two of each.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 dickey will be in top 10 of Ks after today too

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) ** THOUGHTS ON THE GAME **1) R. A. Dickey was Reliably Awesome !!!! 2) I wouldn't have pulled him there in the 8th3) Murph is swinging like he's trying to NOT strike out; I have not much faith in him for hitting something hard right now despite two hits today4) Mets hit five come-backers, the Nationals four. The NYM figure includes the one Murph hit into a 1-2-3 DP but not the one he hit for a single off Gorzelanny's glove5) The Nats, on the other hand, led the Mets 3-2 in grounding out to 1B unassisted. Between "Thoughts" 4 & 5, that's a lot of easy outs for one game.6) Quintanilla, injury or not, made a lot of nice plays today. Nothing eye-popping so much, but a lot of sneaky/tricky ones with little margin for error. He'll be getting some beer from me for this game above and beyond his two hits & 3 times-on-base.7) He held Harper to 3-for-16 this series although one of those was the extra-inning game winner. Today he never got one out of the infield. Doesn't mean all those outs were easy though.8) CPF veterans know that true TotG round-ups are supposed to have TEN Thoughts and traditionally require many exclamation points!!!9) But I can't think of that many!!10) If Frank-Frank is going to serve up HRs in save situations they might as well be solo jobs while sitting on a 3-run lead Edited June 7, 2012 by Guest
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I was so pegged at work that I didn't get to listen to even one pitch of this game. A coworker kept me posted via CBS' ticker while I was in meetings and doing various other things. Glad to see them coming back and avoiding the sweep today.
