Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 All hopes rest on Duda. Don't tell him that, but it's true.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Damn that Metro-ridin' knuckleballer's got it goin' on.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 As a total aside, who would've guessed after watching Game 2 of the 2000 NLCS that the only starter in that game who'd still be active in the big leagues in 2012 would be Rick Ankiel?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 And we just walked him to bring the tying run to the plate.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 No harm, though. R.A. strikes out the next two. (He now has 8.)79 pitches through 6 innings.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Big hit for Muffy there, wasn't sure he had it in him.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Nice play by Q to get that force at third. Two on, one out. Tying run still at the plate.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Grounder to Wright starts a 5-5-3 DP and they're out of the inning!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Retail Availability Dickey is really on a roll now. He should write a book about it!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Dickey batting for himself in the eighth. I always like to see that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I LUB to see that.Nieuwhiffhuis gives me a lot to love, but he's on a pace to set a nieu Mets strikeout record.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 101 pitches through 7 for Mr. Dickey.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 X grounds to Q for the first out.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 An infield single, and Dickey exits.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 We need five outs from this bullpen of ours.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Less scary than the Mets bullpen.

One more batter!I'm closing my eyes as the bullpen comes in.Terry criticism- if you're going to pull a guy after he gets an easy groundball out and then a grounder for a single, you should have hit for him in the top of the 8th.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Parnell walks Ankiel, then gets the second out on a grounder to the pitcher.Tying run still at the plate, first base open.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 And Q gets a bang-bang play at first for the final out!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Attaboy, Bobby Pee.Bite it, Harper.

He went to the mound and they talked it over for a bit. Have a feeling RAD didn't tell TC what he wanted to hear.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 David gets a one-out triple down the line in right. Harper looks like he may be hurt.
