Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 We're facing something named Cory Luebke today. The 26 y/o left-hander from Coldwater, Ohio was a 63rd overall pick in the 2007 draft who was called up last September. He now has 41 ML games under his belt, 11 of which are starts (37 and 8 this season).Sporting a 3.06 ERA while giving up less than a base-runner per inning [.962 WHiP], it looks like he was moved into the rotation in late June where he's gone 3-4 in 8 starts since [2.92; .932] including coming off a 7 inning, 1 run, 5 hit, 9 K, 0 BB performance against the Pirates.Tough on LHBs if the fairly small sample of data is to be believed [.150/.220/.187 across 119 PAs/against]. He has never faced the Mets.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 From same neck of the woods as Niese and Billingsley and that pitcher from the Nationals.Stammen.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Short-staffing issues at work means I'm headed in to lead our afternoon information session... which means after all that, I'm not Citi-bound right now. Blargh. Public apologies and thanks to CF for getting me the tickets anyway.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Look at us. Two chumps who went to work when we both had the opportunity to take our sons to a game on a beautiful day. We suck.CF-Seawolf Similarity Score Rising.

And you get an account by subscribing so it can't be a free game. Not that it matters much to me since I've already paid, but it's weird.Weirder still, I've got SNY images with the San Diego broadcast team's play-by-play.
Guest attgig Guests Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I got normal audio on mlb feed.but you can create an mlb account without paying for it. it's just the regular mlb.com account.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Doodoo with a 2-run dubble off the lefty.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Well, a whopping total of 3 hits combined through 4 innings.Luebke has struck out 7 and walked 3 so has thrown a lot more pitches than you'd expect for only 4 frames.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 These Mets need to work on their pickle drills.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Didn't even get him in a pickle, but yeah.Great strikeout by Niese.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Shawked that they're sticking with Niese now against Blanks.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Sloppy game. Sloppy series. Sloppy shmejada.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I don't like Harris bunting there. What is it with guys named Willie and bunting?... and I especially don't like Paulino grounding out on the first pitch right after it.
