No. I would know better than to put an action shot on a 1972 card.

This is the 1972 Dickey that I created:

Cardboard perfection.

Does anyone have any experience getting cards graded by one
of the big companies like PSA, Beckett, or SGCC?

There is a glut of Nolan Ryan rookie cards on ebay. Did he do
something bad like kick his puppy and everyone is liquidating?

At the moment there is a glut of everything.

Grading..You are paying for an opinion...Grading is more important for the larger dollar cards and moreso for those that are commonly forged such as the Michael Jordan RC Bench 68 Topps Seaver RC Ryan RC 1952 Mantle etc.

They charge by quantity mailed in for grading and how fast you want it back..Figure $8 or so...SGC Sportscard Guaranty is very good. Beckett offers discount grading through the BCCG brand..

For me SGC and PSA are headquarted in my hometown and have a table at the weekly show...If the card needs the protection from the slabbing and certification I would recommend it. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I guess I meant has anyone sent in like 25 cards instead
of going through someone or to a show. There are occasional shows
near me with reps but if I remember right they don't want to do that
many in one sitting or something.

Harvey & Tejada look like they could be out of 1964 in those shots.
Kirk's hair is too long and Dickey with his beard don't look as authentic LBJ-era holdovers.

Grabbed a pack of this today and pulled the Harvey, actually.

Very cool bonus feature: the backs of the cards have the "rub a nickel and get the trivia answer" spot. Well done, Topps.

Topps Heritage will be hitting the sweetspot on the upcoming 1965-1969 gorgeous desiigns. Like Wright and Davis 1967 Mets Maulers.

bought my one pack for the novelty. Bryce Harper's card starts: "Is Bryce going to be a great player? That's a clown question, bro."

Did they really cut off the front grill of the Mustang on that card? Oy. And Gibson's wearing a circa early 70s Cards uni. Still, that set is phat and I'm gonna check them out.

Just got my first Topps pack of the year. My brother and I each got a 2 section rack pack. Only Met I got was Parnell. The '72 mini was Brice Harper (figures). Did get a few stars like Braun but any Met card is more valuable to me.

My brother got this David Wright card that supposed to be rare. Its the same as his regular card except a different image. Hes catching a foul pop on this one.

Next time I'll have him pick my pack.

Everyone else in this special series are pictured making great catches in foul territory. Except Wright, of course.

Bah! Sentimentality. I'm gonna be presumptuous and guess that you probably discovered baseball and baseball cards around 1983. Because so many fans/collectors happen to think that the best baseball card set is the one that they first collected.

That would be correct. Baseball in 1982, cards the following spring.

Me too. The only cards that really send me are the ones from 1971, 1972, and 1973.

I wanted to post these custom made Rusty Staub Mets cards I found on the web, and got tired of looking for the other general all purpose baseball card thread. Searching this forum is a nightmare. Among other things, the search engine returns virtually every word but supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as too common to search for. So fuck you, stupid useless search engine. I"ll just start another thread. I'll start a fucking thread for every single message I post if I want to. Search on that!

Search is an ol' pain in da butt. Sometimes I have more success going to google, then entering cranepoolforum.net: "search term"

Rusty.
