Guys pinch-hitting with sub-.200 averages, maybe lower than the pitcher they were hitting for?

Maybe my instructions weren't clear enough.
The first two have a common bond as does one of the three choices.

You have to choose which one of the choices is a mate with the first two and say why.

LaValliere. All three were known as "Spanky."

AFAIK, neither Dobbs or Dyer were known as 'Spanky' (but maybe I just don't know enough about their private lives)

Dobbs, Duffy, & Berry all have a double consonant in their names.

Ken Berry, all appeared on F-Troop.

There ya go.

I actually thought this was too east for the pop-cultures vultures in this crew and was going to be scooped up almost immediately.

Troopers Dobbs & Duffy were characters on F-Troop and Ken Berry was the name of the actor who played Captain Parmenter

You can now come up with one of your own if you want ... or you can just ignore this and send the thread into a well-deserved early death.
