Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Nah, means the Phillies will get a taste of their own medicine in how easy it is to come back, and walk off, at that place. Especially with a DH. And the Blue Jays will get a taste of playing in front of fans, and see that they cheer a tad more than empty seats.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Prediction: Fans at a Blue Jays home game to set new franchise standard for bad manners.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 It means that Toronto - already the ML leader in HRs - will get to tee off in CBP
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Will Toronto wear white and get last ups?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Will Toronto wear white and get last ups?[/quote:2kg8fqzz]Yes and yes. They will also use the DH.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 The Phillies should also stay in the visiting dugout/clubhouse, eat shittier clubhouse food, and have venomous spiders in their bullpen.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Do the Blue Jays get to use binoculars?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Do the Blue Jays get to use binoculars?[/quote:e7xu84vn]Yah, but they don't get custody of the Phantic and he's the guy who relays the stolen signals.btw, the AL lead in IL is down to 110-100 (52.3% - or about that of an 85 win team)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 And I wouldn't want all of you forget what this IL weekend is really about: why it's the Yanx vs Torre of course!!First time since he left them (or they left him, or whatever) and I almost wonder if the Yanx requested (and by 'requested' I mean 'demanded') that this series be played in LA where MFY mgmt wouldn't have to hear ol' Joe getting cheered on the hallowed grounds.Michael Kay has gone out of his way recently to talk about how he and Joe aren't about to have any pow-wows. Was never real clear on what caused the split between them - maybe Kay thought Joe was stealing his credit of all those WS championships. I did hear him the other day talking about how he can't wait to get to LA so he could see and talk to his old friend -- [pause for effect] -- Don Mattingly. I guess we can add MK to the list of talking heads who wear as a badge of honor how disliked they are by some of the guys they cover(ed) or even even don't cover on a regular basis. M&MD were frequently big on that; "oh _____ wants no part of this show" - at least to the guys they weren't sucking up to. Benigno gets that way too on occasions; "I'm so tough on the Jets that their whole front office hates me"Save your ego trips guys. Report the stories, don't become part of them.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Meanwhile, in Chicago, Carlos Zambrano went after another teammate in the dugout following a four-run first. Trade him for Ollie straight up.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 lol, they switched announcers on the Phils local broadcast. Buck Martinez is working the booth.GMS went to their booth.Thats pretty funny/kool.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 The Phillies were actually known as the Blue Jays for a few seasons in the 1940s. They should do a turn-back-the-clock night and wear Philadelphia Blue Jays uniforms and really fuck with everyone's minds.

Phils up 1-0 in the 4th.Braves down 1-0....says in the 1st.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Phils up 9-0 in the 8th.Braves up 2-1 in the 6th.Carp.Looks like that kid who's pitchin the no-no for the Dbacks will not last 9. Maybe, he's in the 8th, but up to 117 pitches.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Edwin Jackson - still hurling for Arizona despite closing in on 140 pitches - gets the 1st out of the 9th with his no-hitter intact.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 FO to LF - Wily Aybar to block

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 A Brooks Conrad HR (sounds like he belongs in a British spy novel) pads the Braves lead to 3-1 - bottom 8
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Still one walk short of Burnett's ugly-ass no-no.Good on you, 'Dwin.
