I'm at a total loss to explain how Manuel handled the seventh inning. To be fair I'd have given Ollie the hook at the first sign of trouble, but I didn't find an infield single and a sacrifice bunt all that troubling. Why Valdes and not Feliciano? Your guess is as good as mine.

Perhaps Nieve is a bit overworked, but going 0-2 on two straight guys and having a HBP and a walk as end results is just bad.

I'm confident Bay will get hot, but there have been some critical at-bats where he's looked lost. I think it's too early to use the word disappointment, but the Mets could use a boost from somebody in the line-up ASAP and he's the guy we paid to come in and do it.
