Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Kay's a total MFY overdog pussy, terrified of being behind a loser. Yesterday I caught him explaining away the weekend embarrassment by saying it wasn't a matter of the Mets playing well but the MFYs sucking. Yeah with those shit starters they threw at us and all.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Michael Kay is a tool.Sterling is a bafoon.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 Joe Girardi is a bollox , but you all knew that anywayMINNEAPOLIS - Eight days after Joe Girardi protested what he believed to be an illegal pitching change by the Red Sox, he found himself the target of another manager's criticism.Following Wednesday night's 3-2 Yankees win, Twins skipper Ron Gardenhire expressed his displeasure with Girardi, who sent Andy Pettitte to the mound for the ninth inning, then walked to the mound to bring in Mariano Rivera before Pettitte threw a pitch."You don't normally get that long in between innings to do all of that," Gardenhire said. "But that's a situation Major League Baseball needs to take care of. If your bullpen isn't ready and the starter goes out there, he should have to face a batter. That's just the way it should be."Girardi defended his move, saying he was playing "within the rules."I have that option to send the starter out there to get my closer ready," said Girardi, who wasn't going to bring Rivera in until Nick Swisher gave the Yankees a lead with his two-out homer in the ninth.Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2010/05/28/2010-05-28_yes_broadcaster_kim_jones_disgusted_by_yankees_fan_who_took_bite_of_pork_chop_du.html#ixzz0pE78bpAO
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Gay Jay Burnett leaves the MFY game with cuts on BOTH hands after "punching something" between innings of a humiliating MFY loss on Old Timer's Day.Yogi, btw, missed the event after a fall at home.

Then he struggled again in the 3rd and suddenly he was injured and couldn't continue. If he punched anything it was after the 2nd but he was already in trouble before then. Sounded as if the injury were concocted or at least embellished so as to give the reliever more time to warm up.Announcers - Albert & McCarver - wondered about a pie-ing injury from yesterday but were clearly speculating out their blow-holes.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 He apparently told the trainer he fell between innings, then confessed to pushing open double doors with both hands, suffering cut on both hands. As if that's any more plausible. Girardi was bending over backwards to say how embarrassed Burnett was about it and insisting he wouldn't miss a start.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 He won't miss a start cos he's "such a gamer " I bet.....that fucking Girardi is the biggest douchebag of them all.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 It's comforting to know the MFYs have him locked up at 16.5 million a year for the next 3 years.

(Weird but true: at roughly the same time McCarver was using MFY sad-panda week as a departure point to talk about Torre's getting the alternative-history treatment, I was at a Midtown bar, where my wife's colleague was taking the wheel of a conversation about work schedules and child care, steering it suddenly into a frank discussion of her husband's recent infidelity. I was meeting her for the first time. It felt about as comfortable as this.)

She said the thief stashed the money in a drawstring backpack with a New York Yankees logo and ran after punching a muscular male customer who tried to intervene.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Raissman looking at possible end of Waldman and Sterling.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 1. I like Sterling more than Raissman2. The real heartbreaking news is here:METS WANT HAGIN BACKWhen Wayne Hagin left the Mets radio booth at the end of the season he was a man without a contract. However, unlike the Yankees, the Mets pay more attention to their WFAN booth. Mets brass wants Hagin back working with Howie Rose. The FANdroids and Hagin's agent are currently in discussions about his return to the booth in 2011. The Mets contract with FAN expires in 2013.Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2010/11/13/2010-11-13_yankees_deal_with_wcbsam_expiring_leaving_future_of_john_sterling__suzyn_waldman.html#ixzz15N7WSS7G

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Jim Leyritz was acquitted of manslaughter. The only conviction was for DUI, a misdemeanor (!).
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Thing was that his victim was clearly intoxicated too. I'm left wondering if being out on the streets at holiday time in the late hours in Fort Lauderdale, you're taking your life in your hands --- that an unthinkable percentage of drivers are out there under the influence. It might be lower, of course, if they elevated the seriousness of it above a misdemeanor.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Peyser's generally pretty terrible, if I recall correctly. But her subject's a little worse."My life was dragged though the mud because I was a Yankee. I got tried because I'm an athlete! There was a good chance I was innocent!"... he saved his most pointed barbs for his victim -- a waitress and mother who died as she headed home from work in Florida at 3 a.m. three years ago, her Mitsubishi Montero struck by Leyritz's Ford Expedition as he left his birthday bacchanalia."I knew the girl," he revealed. "She was a dancer at one of the nightclubs."So was Fredia Veitch, 30, a stripper? I asked."I don't like to use the word," he said, chuckling. "She's a party girl.""There was no reason for her to be in the intersection at 50 miles an hour, with a .18 blood-alcohol level, her husband bombarding her with text messages. Probably what happened is she got distracted."

Sometimes I think that she's the unhappiest, most miserable wretch ever to report news.
