Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Any Metstock meetups this year? Spring training, perhaps?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Interest from the proprietor in a March-ish event. Deets to come
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Ooh - what about March 21? That would be a great follow-up to the NYC Half Marathon!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 It'll be a Tuesday, most likely.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 OK. So long as it isn't the 30th. Two Boots isn't my location of first choice for the Passover Seder....
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Too much Andouille sausage and spicy tomato sauce is actually more of a welcome to the Angel of Death.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Anyone up for a Feb 6 informal hangout? NYC Chapter of the SABR is having their meeting at the Public Library on 5th, a couple of Metly panels are on the agenda.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Yeah I was gonna mention that, I think I will be at the meeting that day and would encourage the rest of yas all to stop by if only to see what it's about. There is usually a fun thing or two to learn and perhaps we can get some adult beverages after or at least lunch during.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 i love me some 2 boots... do you mean the one at Grand Central?i am a bayou beast, baby!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 The Two Boots where we have the Mets Tuesday nite events is the one on the Lower East Side, at the foot of the Willieburg Bridge. The other event is the NYC SABR meeting, that's Sat. Feb. 6 at the Mid-Manhattan library, so if anyone'd be interested there's pizza and beer nearby there too.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Nerds.(We're doing a showery thing on 2/6, unfortunately.)

You should just conveniently "vanish" and come up to Syracuse and get plotzed with me and sleep on my couch until Fgirl wakes your ass up at 2:30 AM by doing her Bon Scott impression.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I'm not part of the show so much as I'm the roadie. (And some of the husbands/boyfriends and I are going bowling while the ladies play with TP.)She's quite a Night Prowler, then?

Pleasant and princess-y all day, and grotesque and frightening in the wee hours. When's your Mrs.' due date again? I'm sure you'll be fine haw haw
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 5 weeks until we begin diaper-related activity.

willpie Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Got a baby coming in the next couple weeks. And I'm a lurker anyway, so it's not like anyone was hotly anticipating my response. But I'll probably be looking to get out to a game sometime in June or July. A pre-game meetup/tailgate arrangement sometime around then sounds mighty inviting.

Best cheese fries I've ever had as well.Trivia: Who can tell me why its called 'Two Boots'?
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 We have a winnah.Cajun & Italian.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 A Cajun/Italian Mets bar?!?! Why don't I live right next door? Shit, that's a good time.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 You should definitely come out some time. If it goes good again, the owner is into a once-a-month schedule, the pizza is usually great and its very Metty in there.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I'm headed into NYC to do a live webinar/meeting thing on February 17. Let's do it that night.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Oh, I'm blowing off SABR today. Sorry.1) Forecast called for a lotta snow (although there is little!)2) 7 train not running (pita)3) Hafta re-paint the bedroom

Could have SABR'd, as it turned out considering it snowed for hours here without much accumulating. Not repainting the bedroom, however.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I just got an email from Stevie Jeets, he was the only 'pooler to attend the NYC meeting. Sorry, Steve ... I chose not to attend because of some chapter silliness that I can't explain publicly.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 While I am down for some Two Boots fun, may I suggest McFaddens on 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue. It looks like a cross between an Irish Tavern and a "family" style restaurant. My nomination of it for the meetup though is in honor of it having a location in Citi Field this season.
