If you hit traffic at all, it'll be light and only as you are getting on to the Whitestone bridge. The lack of congestion will more than make up for any extra distance you travel. Thanks soupy.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 If anyone can use two for Sun Apr 25th against Atlanta in Sec 430(prom club) let me know -- it's a night game. It's $70 for two and I offer substantial discounts if delivery is easy and I can get fans inthe seats.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Solo tomorrow. 518.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 518 is a real good section. I am a big fan of our seats in 514 (directly behind the plate) but 518 is the closest section in that also gives a good view of the Mets dugout.

Anyone else going that day?
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I'm going Wednesday, I'll PM you my cell #. We (or I, if plans have changed) should be there pretty early.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I'll be at the doubleheader. Is anyone else going?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I'm a little nervous about tomorrow's forecast. How windy does it get in the upper deck on a windy day? They're calling for 25-30 MPH winds tomorrow during the game. I can handle it but Fboy may not be able to do 9 innings in a gale, even in winter attire up there.

We have a big dome up here, you see, so that just means dressing warm for the walk from the parking garage to the game.

Where does it say to dress for the Carrier Dome? Dress like you're going to an April game in that minor league stadium where the Blue Jays affiliate used to play. Does that stadium still exist?
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 If he's unhappy, walk around and watch part of the game from the Shea Bridge. That's closer to Shake Shack anyway.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 What Fairy said. Also, they've redone the Promenade plaza behind home plate-- more vending and seating options, Beer Island II, a second Blue Smoke BBQ outpost, and a gigantic TV screen-- so as to be far more hospitable to a mid-game, 1-2 inning hang (if need be).BTW: Has anyone else tried the Catch of the Day crabcake sammich yet? QUITE nice, if not quite as sexable as the Korean fried chicken with garlic sauce. (The BBQ bologna I liked, but didn't love.)
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 There's a good chance that we roam to other less windful parts of the park tomorrow for portions of the game. Thanks all for the tips. And we do have AAA ball here, but generally speaking we (the Fman family, but also the Cuse population in general) don't spend much time there in April. Because it's Syracuse in April and all.

D-Dad is really into crabcakes, and he loved it I'm going to check out the bologna tonight.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I'm going to Friday night's game at Citizens Bank Ballpark. I'll be sitting with Team McGraw folks, so hopefully they'll watch my back.Is anyone else making the trip south this weekend?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 The Gwreck household put a ban on Citizens Bank Park in early 2008 and haven't returned but the rainout robbed us of baseball this week and we are now very much considering it for either Friday night or Saturday. The stupid Philly fans must think their team is good or something, though, as they appear to have very inconveniently purchased all of the tickets (!). Waffling between just sitting in the cheap seats or opening the wallet for something good.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 If you decide to go on Friday, I'll be in Section 309 with the Tug McGraw Foundation people.Check and see whether any tickets are still available here.

The upper decks and cheap OF seats are where the real miscreants do their due.

Take the Hutch north to I-684 North, to I-84 West to I-87. Might be an extra 10 miles out of your way but probably gets out out of the city limits as fast as possible.Wonderful advice, an extra few miles but this literally saved me 90 minutes tonight on my way home from the stadium. Thanks gang.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I have a friend who is selling two prime tickets for tonight's game. Section 124, Row 26, Seats 1 & 2. Let me know asap if you're interested in them.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 If only Philly were an hour closer! (Going Saturday but can't make it down in time for tonight's tilt).
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Just purchased tix for 5/29 & 5/30 at Milwaukee. Saturday night behind the Mets dugout. Sunday afternoon behind the Mets bullpen. Should be a fun 24 hours of baseball. On edit: Turns out the Saturday game is a Negro League Tribute - As part of the Brewers/New York Mets game, the Brewers will wear reproductions of uniforms worn by the Milwaukee Bears, the city's 1923 representative in the Negro National League. No word as to whether the Mets will wear throwbacks as well.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Playing hookey on Wednesday for the matinee; bringing MiniWolf if he stops being a jagoff about peeing during naptime. My first official visit to the new place.

My first official visit to the new place.Considered coming down again for that one but it's my anniversary. Offered it up to Fwife as an anniversary trip -- two tickets and 10 hours in the car with me! She vetoed.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Personally, I'd consider that a fine anniversary outing. I've spent many an anniversary at a ballpark.

I've spent many an anniversary at a ballpark. You're a good egg then. She'd have no problem going to the game as an anniversary activity... in fact we may go to a Syracuse Chiefs game that day. She's just not big on long car trips. We will likely take in a Saturday game this year, where we can depart from my parents' house in the Hudson Valley and split the driving up over multiple days. She's eager to sample the gluten-free fare they have now and see the new place (so far only Fboy and I have gone from our family).
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 The gluten-free options are not plentiful, but at least they're there.I hope you and Fwife have a nice trip down one of these days (and that you have a wonderful anniversary!).
