soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 You know - if that McCutcheon guy turns out to be any good, that's not a horrible lineup at all.

Assuming no rookie yips, the kid should improve their OF defense (a clicking Morgan-McCutchen-Moss has nationwide coverage). If McCutchen hits the ground doing more than just running (he's got Reyesian speed, by all reports), LaRoche the younger (post-hype sleeper!) keeps developing, and Doumit comes back as some semblance of his regular self, this team will be an absolute pain in the rear to play down the stretch.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 They aren't so easy on the ass right now.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Man, let's fire this game up. I need a proper cleansing of the palate after Monday and Tuesday's suckitude.

I tried explaining this at home... you stick that thing up in the air enough times, I'm gonna take a poke at it.Same exact thing.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I get into trouble for that kinda stuff .GO
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I get in trouble for it sometimes too. Other times, not so much. It's a crapshoot METS!

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 SLIDE AND DIVE WITH CARE!That would make for a good ballpark chant. It kind of reminds me of "We want you safe, because we want you back."
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I would not recommend taking a poke at any Big Ass Fans.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Beltran just misses a dinger there according to Howie. Wayne stupidly adds that if Beltran hadn't lost weight due to sickness then it would've been a home run. Like he knows.Welcome back Carlos.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Bad call by the first base ump results in Castillo being called out at first. Beltran follows with a double off the top of the wall, so the ump has cost the Mets a first-inning run.Carlos is on second, two outs, and Sheffield hitting.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Shaky start for Pelf. First and third, no outs.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Gary Cohen called the Pirates' first two hitters "fleas."Keith countered that they're "gazelles."
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 A link from OO for those at work who want to tune in to the gamehttp://www.freebaseballradio.com/NYmets.htmlWCSS is what's working today.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 McCutheon leads off with a base hit. He should be on the trading block by noon tomorrow.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 An intentional BB in the first inning to a guy hitting .243? Am I reading that right?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 4 - 0 already.......everyone is hitting of Pelfrey....
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Looks like I'll get some work done today.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 first 8 batters for Pitt: 6 singles and an intentional BB. 4-0 with the pitcher coming up.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I just turned off the television.I'll check in again in a little while, hoping to see 9-4 Mets.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 if you'd shown me this Mets lineup on April first I'd have been crying about it, but given whatsbeen thrown out there lately it looks great today.
