Doesn't it seem like the Yankees always have some kind of issue with rain-delayed / late start games every year? There's always some contoversy with them and then probably later today they'll come out and make an announcement that all tickets for last night's game can be exchanged, blah...blah...blah.

I'd be pissed if I had a tcket to that game last night. I think it's bullshit that they started it at almost 9:30 on a cold, rainy Monday night. What time did the game end - 1:00?

Y'know if it were only a handful of people I'd be quicker to say they were dorks for listening to some usher who said something he shouldn't have and no big deal. But when "hundreds" leave on the advice of guys wearing stadium uniforms with "how can I help you?" buttons you start to think it's an organizational screw-up somewhere and less a case of gullibility.

Over the years the Yanx have usually been pretty good at providing future tickets to fans who missed, or even sat through, a game that was severely delayed or hampered by rain. But that was under the old regime and in the old stadium. Be interesting to see how the Tross/Levine mafia plays this one, particularly in the face of all the bad publicity they've taken lately.

no matter whom they or their family play for I feel nothing but sorry for someone who gets entangled in that kind of thing. She's obviously dealing to feed a habit and the last thing she needs is to be picked up by the wire services.

Joba's quote is refreshingly nice.

NYDN: Yanx tell fans game was called off -- then won't let them back in when it starts.

And that's after making them wait more than 2h-20m in the rain because the team didn't want back-to-back off days.

And yes, I think the Joba quote is nice, too.

Was he drunk?

Yes, the MFYs are becoming more and more of a national joke every day.

Posada btw, hurt his hammy last night and could be gone for another long while. We really ought to thank Omar for bidding up his price and years.

The Daily news is tracking the home runs in the Bronx

through ten games - Coors Field 1999 - 35 home runs

through ten games - MFY 2009 - 36 home runs

Coors field yielded 303 home runs in 1999 , a number YS3 could exceed.

My recollection is that Luis' homers all come from pulling the ball as a right handed batter, and the MFYS home run problem is to right field.

Posada to the 15-day DL[/quote:3mx1c5c5]

How about Ramon Castro for Ian Kennedy?

They'd need to give us a throw in like Phil Hughes with Kennedy.

How about Schneid for Hughes.

IN the cabride to the airport, the two morning doofuses on the radio spent most of the trip beating on the Yankees. I thought they were just being their zany selves when they came with "and your star pitcher has a meth-dealing mom!"

Q: So what's better than a four-game NYM winning streak?

A: A four-game NYM winning streak that's followed by flipping the channel in time to see Rivera serve up back-to-back jacks to the Rays in the 9th of a (formerly) tied game

WOW , I had just checked a few minutes ago , tied game then....oh I like this. Girardi might not last the month.

Oh, that is good.

If the Rays hang on here that'll be five straight in the L column for the MFYs.

Girardi will be fired between the first and 2nd Subway serieses, if he lasts that long.

Kay sounds like he slitting his wrists here.

F Kay. Today he remarked that had the Mets signed Manny and this stuff came out, "That would be just like the Mets," forgetting that the team he teabags for every night employed Gay-rod, Giambi, Sheffield, Pettitte and Clemens all while embarrassing steroid allegations went public.

I never hope for Yankee firings because I'm always certain the next one is going to be Davey Johnson.

They really booed Rivera?

They were just testing him.
