Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Who would you like to see win the NLDS?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Not an easy choice , I'm 60 / 40 going for the Brewers.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 I'm rooting for an early exit by the Phillies, mainly so I can stop hearing about them.I think, though, that they'll get by the Brewers and succumb to the Cubs or Dodgers.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Another sweep of the Phillies in the first round would do the trick.26 years is a long time to wait.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Brewers. I've got nothing against them. Not like the Phillies.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 The Brewers aren't even in the National League as far as I'm concerned. Go Phils.Read where Burrell strained his back in bp
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 good. in this contest, i'm rooting for injuries.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 In my mind, the Mets lost the WC, the Brewers didn't win it. I like Ryan Braun ("The Hebrew Hammer") and Corey Hart helped my fantasy team. I wish nothing but despair for the Phillies and their fans.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 The Brewers lost the Wild Card before the Mets lost it.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 The Brewers. Primarily to shut up the Philles phans whom I live among.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 Scarlett and I have the same perspective on this series.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I wish for Prince Fielder to assume the Ving Rhames role from "Pulp Fiction" and go medieval on the asses of the Phillies. There is no ambivalence here. Whatever tiny shred of admiration I had for the Phillies' ability to turn it on in September while other teams turn it off was lost to the sign the Phillies fan at CPB held up on Saturday. It had our NY and the phrase "UNIVERSAL SIGN FOR CHOKING".Even if it's true, I want that person and every person who cares for them to feel nothing but searing intestinal pain for days and weeks and months and years to come. Congratulations Phillies. It took a while, but I hate you more than the Braves.Victorino should feel it, too.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) The window of opportunity is ope'd only so long when your stars are really really fat. So why not let the Brews have their moment? Edited October 1, 2008 by Guest
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Brewers. I want to see Jimmy Rollins and the rest of the Phillies poinded into submission as rapidly as possible.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 So it's me and who else? vs. 17 of ya.Brewers? They f-ed up everything.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I can't root for the Phillies. Ever.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Tough choice really:The Brewers are fat, named for people who make beer, play in a city of extremely nice people and have that not been in the playoffs for 26 years underdog charm. Plus it would be cool for them to be the first team to win pennants in both leagues. On the other hand I always tend to root according to the same league/same division loyalty rule, so the Phillies have that going for them. Philadelphia in general is suffering a drought of championships. My friends in Philly have a three-year old son who loves the team and is heart-broken when they lose. And if the Phillies are going to keep edging out the Mets they may as well at least get a pennant out of it. So, slight edge to the Phillies.
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 ]And if the Phillies are going to keep edging out the Mets they may as well at least get a pennant out of it. My thoughts exactly. They better make it worth losing, dang it!

Guest cooby Guests Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Now stop it! He did not pick the same as I did on all of these!

For some reason I just don't have the hate for Philadelphia that I did for the Braves. Maybe because the Braves always whupped the Mets while with the Phillies the Mets have basically whupped themselves.
