Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 A bit of pressure on young Jonathon Niese this evening.Let's see him step up and pitch a game we'll be talking about (positively!) for years to come.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Niese? And then Perez who looked like he just didn't care last game for tomorrow. All of a sudden I have a terrible feeling about this series.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Castillo looked so good in that AB that he deserves a start--that was sarcastic. Edited September 13, 2008 by Guest

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I love that boy!2-0 Mets on Wright's first inning homer
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Keith isn't going to be at tomorrow's game because he's going to be in DC.Is he going to Edgy's wedding?
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Reyes' homer gives the Mets a 4-0 lead!
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 can anyone get this on mlb.tv i can't figure out how.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Hey - I went to high school with that doctor Kevin Burkhart was interviewing in the top of the inning!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 The mlb.tv feed isn't working. I waited for 15 minutes to find out that "there's an issue" and "they are working on it."
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 The bottom of the third continues because the rookie relief pitcher fails to cover first base for what should have been the third out.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 But the inning ends on Castillo's grounder of Carlyle's foot
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I take it that Niese is not as nervous as he was in his debut!Nice game, kid! (So far)
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Big K there to end the top of the 7th.Niese has been great. I like the big sweeping curveball.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Niese with seven shut out innings thus far. Heart of the order coming up. Time for some tack on runs so to put this game out of reach.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Why would you suppose that Niese wouldn't understand the full import of what he did tonight? I understand it.

stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Niese was being born the date the Mets won the 1986 World Series. Neat for Niese!Okay, I'll supply my own crickets for this one

Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 The kid finishes eight shutout innings.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I forget now -- one of the guys in the booth.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Why is SNY running ads encouraging people to buy tickets for today's game?If people haven't bought them by now, they ain't gonna be leaving their TVs to buy them now.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm just glad that they don't have any cheesy marketing campaign for postseason tickets this year.

I suppose all of the commercial breaks are prearranged and those ads would've aired last night instead of today.Only thing I can think of.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Is Larry available to pinch hit in this game?Nice job by Murph.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I wonder if poor Greg is still at Shea, almost 6 hours now since the first pitch of Game 1.
