The Mets sure are facing a lot of left-handed starters lately, aren't they? I just hope it doesn't cause Daniel Murphy to cool off. He's been seeing a lot of bench time lately.

Hopefully they'll knock Hampton all around the ballpark today. This game really looks like a "should win."

I can't remember the last time I had as much start-to-start confidence in a Met starting pitcher as I do in Santana now. He's almost automatic with 7 quality innings.

Showing replay of a nice sit down hosted by Darling with Seaver and Santana.

It's nice to see these three generation Mets chewing the fat if you get a chance
to watch it or if you're out of town maybe SNY website has or will have a link.

Speaking of fat, just how fat has Seaver gotten?

Ah, so it's raining there too....

There are people with umbrellas sitting in the field level seats. Earlier everyone was in the causeways. I'm hoping that it's a sign that there's a gap in the rain in NY.

They just announced at Shea that tonight's game is postponed and will be made up tomorrow night as a separate admission doubleheader.

SNY showed the Piazza home run from September 21 and Keith and Gary start talking about 9/11 in general baseball terms when Keith says that that day has a special place in his house , his wife Kai lost her husband that day , he was with Cantor Fitzgerald.

I never knew that.

I take it back - it's a single admission doubleheader tomorrow. Only people with tickets for Saturday's game will be admitted to tomorrow's doubleheader.

It's okay. I'm sitting here working on a jigsaw puzzle. Join me...

Yeah but, with no more regularly scheduled off days, the pitching staff will be taxed, even with the September callups. Might see Niese get his second start, and another go-round for Knight.

As part of my go to every game until Shea dies or it kills me program, I sat there with no genuine hope of playing until it was called. They showed "Look Who's No. 1" and "A Year to Remember". Then they slapped a logo on DiamondVision because there is an official sponsor of rain delays at Shea, no kidding.

According to the scoreboard, both Robinson Cancel and Johan Santana were going to catch. I was looking forward to some awesome plays at the plate.
