I'm going with .371. I just don't think it's sustainable.

1) He's never won a batting title (but did finish second last year, so it seems he's made some adjusments).
2) He's traditionall a better hitter lefthanded. This year, his power is coming lefthanded, but his higher batting average righthanded. I don't think he'll continue to hit .432 as a rightie.
3) The Georgia sumer can make people wilt. He's 36.

He's certainly putting to rest any doubt that he's a Hall of Famer.

Speaking of batting averages, I was reading the agate page in the Snooze this morning -- the only place left where I'd bother to look up batting averages -- and delighted in the fact that the NL Guys are KILLING the AL top 10, which I always root for but seldomly get. We got Chipper at 400 vs. their leader ... wait for it ... HIDECKI MATSUI at 320-something. Plus, the bottom few in the AL are in the 299s while we run down at 315ish.
