No lineups yet, but David Lennon is reporting that Evans, Castro, Easley and Tatis are all starting tonight (Easley at first in place of Delgado). Florida starter Andrew Miller is a lefty.

Also a decent chance of a rain delay tonight. "Severe Thunderstorm Watch" in place for Queens County.

="The National Weather Service"]
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 3am. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 54. North wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

The Mets generate a big first inning, providing Santana with a three run cushion. Mets 3, Marlins 0 after one inning. The inning also demonstrates (at least to me) why Randolph should've been fired already, or better yet, never have been hired to begin with.

With Reyes on second base with a lead-off double, Castillo's sac bunt is bobbled by the pitcher, who is then unable to throw Reyes out at third. If Randolph had his way, if the sac bunt went according to plan, Castillo would've been thrown out at first, having sacrificed himself to advance Reyes. Easley's RBI sac fly would've been the third out. And no runs would have scored, instead of three

At least he's not bunting.

How about that Tatis. Wayne Hagin reported to me before his first turn that he was swinging a vicious bat during BP today. Anyway, good for the Mets.

Nick strikes out with the bases loaded, but with the pitcher on deck, I bet he wasn't getting too much to swing at, even with the bases loaded.

He was getting with fastballs that he couldn't catch up to, barely fouling them off. When he finally got a slider he was meat.

Castro doing a shitty job blocking those.

Reyes has his head up his ass. One handing bouncers on a rainy day.

Makes me feel bad for Willie.

Can Peterson/Willie grow a set and put Santana out in the eighth? I want Santana/Wagner to finish this.

Santana's at 106 pitches.

I think Santana comes out for the eighth, but I think he's pulled if anybody reaches.

Endy takes an 0-2 pitch up the middle.
If the Mets fortunes are indeed turning then a dp ball will not be hit here.
