Utley scores from first on a real close play.
Burrell doubled him in.

1-0 Phils in the 6th.

Sosa gets through the 7th.

8-3 Mets up in the 8th.

Sosa is huge.

Saved the whole season there in the 6th.

That's temptation I'd rather not tempt even thinking about.

Green off the bench is 2 for 2. Woohooo!

But Reyes can't keep it going.

Cards are threatening in the 6th with 1st and 2nd, 2 out.
But pitcher Wainwright will bat for himself there---

AND HE TIES THE GAME WITH A LOOPING SINGLE TO CENTER!
1-1, Cards.

How about that?
I was thinkin whats Wainwright doing batting?
Ha.

Cardinals tie it.

Little help from the Cards tonight would be a wonderful thing.

Heilman gets the ball for the 8th.

DiFelice on to catch.

Gomez will take over in right for Green.
I think.
ST has him in right, CBS has him in left.

*Zvon tips his cap to Heilman.
1-2-3 8th.
Great job guy!

In St Loo Phils outfielder Werth has his feet taken out from under him from loose turf while tracking down a fly with bases loaded...
and he pops up and makes the catch.

Whats up with the outfield turf in Busch?
Rowand also had a problem the other night and said the outfield grass there is messed up.

I wrote about the angry Mets fan that sat in front of me the last two nights. Turns out he hosts a radio show (Tim):

Only in America.

No report of Wagner up in the pen.....so Heilman gets the 9th?

Wright threw a ball away and Nats have a runner on second. Wags got Nook Logan to pop up. So far, he looks like he's back in early season form.

Thx.

Just all caught up.
2 out.
Maxwell to third.
That run means nothing.

CLOSE THE DOOR WAGS!

Posted

Well, Billy, if you DON'T close the door your gonna make me look silly, cause that run might mean something.

Zim singles in Max.

8-4 Mets

And no one was ever as happy to see President Tyler than we are! Hopefully the Cards can get us to the short tenure of Mr. Harrison by the end of the night.

And in St. Louis, it's still 1 to 1 heading into the bottom of the 8th.

And Phils third baseman Nunez is fielding like Brooks Robinson.
I've seen him steal at least 3 hits tonight, the last just now on a grounder chopped over his head that he made a fantasic leaping grab of.

And Charlies smart enough to remove Burrell in left in this close game and late inning.
Werth just catches a beebee to left .I wonder what Burrell would have done with that.

1-1 in the 9th.
Another good ball game here.

Philly had 1st and 2nd with 1 out but after going 3-0 on Victorino, he got him to hit a comebacker and then got Rollins to ground out on the first pitch.
