Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Hey marathon, m.e.t.b.o.t., and Gwreck, you have to move quickly before the polls close. They seem to have dumped their extended hours for the summer.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 No kidding. The warning said "closing Friday." Didn't realize that would mean closing Friday at 9:00 AM.It's tough to have a legitimate complaint when somebody is doing all the work (and that work is indeed appreciated, but as I've said before, closing the voting fewer than 72 hours after the game (in this case, it was about 59) ends seems pretty fast.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Since three people (or two people and one b.o.t.) got their votes in late, I decided to, this one time only, re-tally this game.VOTING FOR THIS GAME IS AGAIN CLOSEDTotals for August 7, 2007 (12 votes)Atlanta Braves 7, New York Mets 3 NameTotalPointsPointsAwardedPlayer PerformanceDavid Newhan19.731.641-1, R, 3B, RBI.Lastings Milledge10.390.871-3, R, 2B, 2 SO.Pedro Feliciano9.340.780.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO.Guillermo Mota8.920.741.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO.Carlos Delgado5.630.471-3, BB, SO.Aaron Sele4.360.361.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO.Scott Schoeneweis2.710.230.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 SO.Jos Reyes1.430.121-4, RBI.Oliver Perez1.000.08(L) 5.0 IP, 10 H, 6 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO.David Wright0.790.070-3, R, BB.Luis Castillo0.320.031-4.
m.e.t.b.o.t. Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 recently, m.e.t.b.o.t. was wound up, but there were no calculations to be made. a television, however was on. m.e.t.b.o.t. is unsure of whoever turned on the television, or why they had left it on AMC, as nobody else appeared to be watching. m.e.t.b.o.t. is typically very much conservation-minded, and normally would have encouraged the shut-down of said television, however, m.e.t.b.o.t. cannot interface with remote controls, and the television is well out of m.e.t.b.o.t.'s reach, situated high up on a shelf. m.e.t.b.o.t. does not know who wound m.e.t.b.o.t.'s spring, let alone who would have turned on the television. but playing on this television was the final few minutes of bicentennial man, featuring robin williams. m.e.t.b.o.t. is generally unfamiliar with cinema, and imetbotho m.e.t.b.o.t. did not consider this to be an example of great cinema, but the central message of the movie caused m.e.t.b.o.t.'s gears to spin a little more efficiently - that a robot, even one that looks like robin williams, can be human, too. immediately after the movie, 2010 - the year we make contact, was to air, but the television was shut down just as the the movie began, to m.e.t.b.o.t.'s disappointment. m.e.t.b.o.t. still does not know who was operating the television, but can understand the desire of the television operator to remain anonymous, given the operator's decisions.regardless, as robin williams teaches moviegoers, m.e.t.b.o.t. is people too.
