They did. ESPN is usually the network that declines to let the viewers know about defensive changes. There was at least one (if not two) times this year where Chavez has been brought in for defense and I had no idea until I saw him make a catch.

IIRC, that happened against the Cardinals -- first game of the year -- and later someone called WFAN to yell about Willie not putting in Chavez -- when in fact he had, exactly when the caller said he should have.

If he'd made a perfect throw, it was a shitty, moronic play.

I think the Mets should send over a few Schaefers for Cano. After Wright and Chavez, he was probably was the best thing the Mets offense had going for it today.

You know, when it's all said and done the double-steal ahead of the Franco error was a big, b-i-g, BIG freakin play. Nearly made up for N.D. getting caught with one out, Beltran up and Reyes on 3rd earlier.

If he ever does that again I'm going to love him just a little less than I do now. Which is a lot, don't get me wrong. But that's only a good play if you make it 100% of the time.

I agree with that. In Endy's defense, up until that point, Posada hadn't demonstrated he could reach second base.
