I liked that movie.

Good movie ('Get your ahss to Mars') and I think the image is okay because it seems to me that not one of the three of those are real.

After the Mets and Yankee games ended yesterday I was flipping around for more baseball and found the Braves game on TBS.

The wife had a friend over and the three of us were in the living room with that game on but the TV on mute.

As the two of them are yammering on I watch Chipper Jones hit into an unassisted triple play. I said 'HEY! Check it out! An unassisted triple play! Wow! You don't see that every day! In fact you never see that! Wowee!, check out the replay!'

Their reaction? Rolled eyes and right back to their conversation.

That Unassisted Triple Play was pretty funny.
- First of all it was pulled off by that rookie SS Troy Tulowitski who we just saw for the first time the other day. Dude's in the big leagues for about 20 minutes and he turns one of barely a dozen UTPs in MLB history.
- and he should really get credit for about 5 outs. After snagging the line-drive; he stepped on 2nd, tagged the runner coming from 1st (the runners on 1st & 2nd were off w/the pitch) tagged him twice I think, then went back step on 2nd again before deciding that that wasn't enough so he threw to 1st. Jeez kid, act like you've done this before Okay?!

Couldn't help but notice the other nite at the game that Turlowitzski is a heck of a fielder with a pnematic cannon for an arm. We were sitting field level, 3rd base, and had a nice view of his perspective toward 1st. You could hear his throws whistle.

I even ordered from a waitervendor. I turned down a handjob from the Shea Valet however.

Yesterday's Triple Happiness was especially happy considering a lot of other games went our way too. To make it official:

5/13/07 - Mother's Day

Mets 9, Brewers 1
Pirates 13, Braves 2
Mariners 2, MFY's 1

Also adding to our pleasure:

Red Sox 6, Orioles 5 (Boston scores 6 in the 9th, the last two on an error to push the MFY's 8 back)
Cubs 4, Phillies 1
Nationals 6, Marlins 4 (One team in the division had to win, might as well have it be the one in last)

Savor the day folks.

A triple triple ...that ninth inning of the Boston game was fun to watch,Millar made the error?...

The error was charged to Chris Ray, the O's closer. He was late to cover first, and then missed the throw allowing the winning run to score. The throw was a little behind him but it looked like something he should have been able to handle.

5/14/07 - Not an official triple happiness, but it's about as close as one can get on a day when the Yankees are idle.

Mets 5 Cubs 4
Nationals 2 Braves 1
Yankees were off
Red Sox 7 Tigers 1

5/16-17/2007:

New York Mets 8, Chcago Cubs 1
Washington 6, Atlanta 4

Yankees split a double header with the White Sox.

... Not quite.

If the Yanks had lost the double dip, would we have had to start a quadruple happiness thread?

Thursday, May 17th:

Mets 6, Cubs, 5, after a five-run Met rally in the ninth.

Nats 4, Braves 3, after a two-run Nat rally in the seventh, started by a Met-in-spirit Jesus Flores double.

White Sox 4, Yankees 1, behind seven innings from American hero Jon Garland.
